Koh Chang Guest Friendly Hotels

The guest friendly hotels stated below are all located on and around White Sand Beach, the most popular beach on Koh Chang and within walking distance of the beer bars, discos and nightlife hot spots of the town. These establishments are also very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them as of November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. You can check out the reply they provided at the end of each individual hotel description. All offer both great value and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary from budget to 5 star luxury.

So, where is the action at on Koh Chang?

While the vast majority of the visitors who make their way to Koh Chang are more interested in daytime beach activities and island exploring than raucous nightlife this doesn’t mean there’s no bar girl or freelance action to be had. Your best bet for female companionship is to explore the twenty or so beer bars of “Little Pattaya” located on the South end of White Sand Beach or try your luck  in one of the discos a bit further down the road.

Wondering what exactly is a guest friendly hotel ?

A hotel that is considered guest or Bargirl friendly / Girl Friendly /  Guest Friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night but could be even higher depending on the hotel policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a lady back up to your room everyday for a week then you’re going to be paying a substantial amount of money unnecessarily or even worst risk her being denied entry. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Koh Chang Guest friendly hotels List:

Alina Grande Hotel & Resort $/$$/$$$

9/10 Moo 4, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Alina Grande Hotel & Resort are in fact two separate hotels with the same owner:  The Alina Resort is the original complex which is comprised of a mix of bungalows and traditional rooms with balcony. While they are not the newest anymore everything is nice and clean with A/C  in every room at what amounts to pretty decent prices considering the central location with direct access to the beach.  Their newer hillside complex is only a few years old and is the one referred to as the Alina Grande.  Here everything is much more spacious and modern and while you might  pay a little more I personally think it’s well worth the extra for the room comfort. In the end all depends if you want to trader a bit of luxury to be just a few short steps from the beach or not.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Alina Grande Hotel & Resort: ”No charge with your girl from bar but if possible please tell our receptionist for her ID for your security. Kind Regards, Miss Phichamol Phiphatcharamaetheekul”.

Baan Ton Rak Boutique Resort $$

6/10 / 9 Moo 4, Pearl Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Baan Ton Rak Boutique Resort is a small and friendly resort located at Pearl beach about 1.5 km South from the main strip of White Sands Beach. All of the six lovely rooms they have to offer are decent and clean with all the basic facilities (Air-con, TV, Wi-Fi, in room safe, hot & cold water shower). The decor around the resort also provide for a pleasant atmosphere with the various plants, fountains, stone carvings  and outside covered areas where you can sit and relax on soft beds. The only downside is it’s a bit of a walk to White Sands Beach and the little Pattaya beer bars but they do rent scooters for only 150 THB a day.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Baan Ton Rak Boutique Resort  “Hello, it is no problem for us. Our rooms prizes are for 2 persons. Your are welcome. Best regards Baan Ton Rak Boutique Resort”.

Banpu Koh Chang Hotel $$$/$$$$

9/11 Moo 4, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Banpu Koh Chang Hotel is cozy little hideaway centrally located on White Sand Beach. Scattered throughout it’s lush tropical garden you have a choice between spacious bungalows and rooms in their main two floor building. Both are very clean and we furnished with: Air conditioning, mini-bar, safe, TV, hot & cold shower, mosquito nets, television and balcony.  Unlike some other nearby resorts, the Banpu isn’t cramped with too many rooms giving you a sense of intimacy and space. They have a nice pool area (picture above) that’s only 20 meters from the beach. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating. There are only two downside that I could think of, first their Wi-Fi internet isn’t free and actually pretty damn expensive at 100 THB/hour. Secondly, there are only 10 or so channels on the TV. But in the end, If you can do without those two I can definitely recommend this resort.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Banpu Koh Chang Hotel  “Dear Sir, We will no charge for the third party for your booking. Looking forward to serve you Wuttipong Sripinyo (gm)”.

Buffalo Bill Hotel Koh Chang $/$$

9/11 Moo 4, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Buffalo Bill Hotel is located across the street just 50 meters from the northern part of white sand beach. The hotel is in fact a Pub & Steakhouse Restaurant with an American/Western theme going that have number of rooms attached to it. The standard rooms are decent and come with all the needed basic essentials: A/C, TV, hot & cold shower, fridge, safe & Free Wi-Fi internet. The one downside is that it’s across the road from the popular Sabay Bar and that sometimes the live music could be bothersome to those who want an early nights sleep. Otherwise for the proximity of the beach and prices in the low 1000 THB range it could be an option if other more popular resorts are full.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Buffalo Bill Hotel Koh Chang  “Hi, if you are more then 18, you can bring to your room anyone you like for no additional fee ;-) Pierre Gallemaert Hotel & Restaurant Manager”.

Koh Chang Grand View Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

19/3 Moo 4, A. Koh Chang, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Koh Chang Grandview Resort is found at the Southern tip of White Sands in a quiet location only a short stroll on the beach from the main bars, restaurants & shops. I stayed in one of the sea-view bungalows and they are very clean and spacious furnished with everything you need inside: Big bed, flat-screen TV with a hundred or so channels (but most in Thai), A/C, mini bar, desk, hot & cold  shower, etc. I would recommend the rooms on the beach side VS the ones along road unless you get substantially cheaper deal as they are not exactly as inspiring to say the least. The only downside I had was that the Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby and not like as specified online in rooms. You can fix that easily though with one of the local paid Wi-Fi services available for around 100 THB/day. Otherwise the staff is friendly here (but most speak only very basic English) and the resort has a very nice pool near it’s beach end.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Koh Chang Grand View Resort: “Our policy has no charge for your extra guest and only keep record for your pastport & ID card of your guest by copy. We do for your security. We try to do by the short time for your check in like stay your home. If you have any question please do not hesitate to cotact me. Best regards, Supichai Keardpimai -Resident Manager”.

Keeree Ele Hotel Koh Chang $$$/$$$$

9/3 Moo 4, A. Koh Chang, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

While the Keeree ele’ Hotel is a little bit up the hill and a good 10 minutes walk from the beach it’s very conveniently located less than 5 away from the “Little Pattaya” concentration of beer bars. Newly opened in 2009, the Keeree ele’ is modern and beautifully decorated with rooms that offer views of the sea on one side and mountains on the other (or both in the case of the  deluxe ones). The deluxe room was really big and the bed and bathroom both very stylish and well furnished with: Air conditioning, cable TV, big shower/bathtub, mini bar, large balcony/terrace & refrigerator. What was missing was the free in room Wi-Fi & safe, while both are available in the lobby this should really be included for a hotel in this price range. The hotel also has a smallish but beautiful pool with a sun loungers. All in all this place is a little expensive but they regularly run promos that make it then worth staying here.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Keeree Ele Hotel Koh Chang: “Greeting from Keeree Ele Hotel Koh Chang. Our small hotel strives to make your holidays special so we allow you to come with your (unregistered) guest and not necessary to leave her ID at the reception but I would like to inform you that our hotel will not be responsible for any loss/or damage to your belongings besides it becomes apparent that the hotel or the hotel staff have acted carelessly or negligently and you are requested to beware of your any valuables.”

Paddy’s Palms Resort $/$$

9/99 Moo 4 , White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

Recently opened in 2006, the Paddy’s Palms Resort is one of my favorite places to stay in Koh Chang and honestly I think you’d be hard pressed to find better value for money elsewhere these days. During my last trip in October, 900 THB would get you one of their deluxe room which besides being very modern, spacious and clean include: A big and comfortable king sized bed, TV with plenty of English & Thai speaking channels, quiet but powerful A/C unit, small fridge with 2 free bottles of water each day, western bathroom with separate toilet & shower, plenty of storage space for luggage & your clothes, free Wi-Fi and a little balcony area with table and chairs. Location wise the hotel is around a 10 minutes walk to White Sands Beach, even closer from all of the nightlife venues and just a stone’s throw away from Little Pattaya’s dozen or so beer bar enclave. Included in the price is a small free buffet breakfast served at their restaurant with the choices of cereals & fruit then bacon, eggs & toast with all the tea and coffee or juice you can drink. Not to forget their nice little pool area at the side of the hotel with rarely any people around making it a great place to relax on a hot day. So if you want my opinion, Paddy’s Palms Resort is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Paddy’s Palms Resort: Their website’s booking & inquiry engine has been down for a few months (though you can still book through Agoda) so there is no way for me to provide you an adequate official response but I can assure you for personally having been here many times (latest in October 2012) that this hotel is very guest friendly. In fact at around 10PM the reception counter closes (so while I never tried with more than two girls at a time) you could probably get away bringing the whole staff from any given beer bars without anyone noticing.

Top Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

24/45 Moo 4, White Sand Beach, Koh Chang, Thailand

The Top Resort towers along a cliff on the South end of White Sand Beach. While lacking direct access to the beach you can easily walk your way down to it in about 10 minutes. Even better, just like Paddy’s Palm it’s conveniently located right next to the dozen of so girly bars that Koh Chang have to offer! The place is very popular among a German clientele as the owner, attached restaurant and most of the staff are themselves German but the atmosphere is friendly regardless of what Nationality you are. The resort is set amongst beautiful gardens with a lovely swimming situated in a tranquil and relaxed settings with great views looking out to the sea. You can chose between three types of accommodations: The hotel rooms in the main building, bungalows (garden & seaview) or villas over the top of the cliff, facing the gulf. Price go anywhere from 25$ for basic rooms in low season to over 100$ for the high end villas in peak season but all the rooms are furnished at the very minimum with: A/C & fans, TV with a good rance of English channels, fridge filled drinks, electronic in-room safe and bathroom with hot water showers. A Great place especially for first-timers to the Island as the staff speaks excellent English and can give great advice on the abundance of things you can do during your trip.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Top Resort: “We never asked for a joiner fee and also in future we will not do so. Even we will not ask for the ID card of your guest. Our rules say that you bring your guest on your own risk. Best regards from warm and sunny Koh Chang. – Michael”.

Bali Guest Friendly Hotels in Kuta, Legian and Seminyak

All the guest friendly hotels below are within walking distance of the club and bargirl scene of Bali and have been listed by their respective areas of KutaLegian and Seminyak. These establishments are also all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them to confirm that their guest friendly policy is still in effect. Further more at the end of every hotel description you will find the hotel management’s reply on the subject. All establishments in this list offer both great value and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary from budget to 5 star luxury.

So, where is the action at in Bali?

The nightlife venues where you can find most of bar girls in Bali can be found along the main drag between Kuta and Legian in popular places such as Paddy’s night club, M-BAR-GO, Engine Room or Bounty Ship. In Seminyak your best bet is to hit Jalan Double Six, a popular nightspot street packed with trendy bars and clubs (Bacio, Syndicate, Club Double six, La Vita Loca, etc.) with some of them opened until the wee hours of the morning. The crowd in Seminyak is more upmarket and the bargirls who frequent these places generally look more mature and are of higher class.

Wondering what’s a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest or Bargirl friendly / Girl Friendly / Guest Friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night but could be even higher depending on the hotel policy. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Kuta Bali guest friendly hotels List:

Bali Garden Beach Resort $$$$

Jalan Dewi Sartika, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Bali Garden Beach Resort is one of the few hotels right on the beach front so that’s a great plus! Located on the Southern tip of Kuta it’s just far enough to be a bit quiet at night though only a 5 minutes walk to a multitude of restaurants and shops. Those who plan to party every night can be reassured the nightlife is only a 15 minutes walk away to the downtown Kuta and poppies lane area.. Rooms are all large and have balconies: The Deluxe ones face the beach while the Superior face the garden and street. You can expect comfy beds, great working A/C, good water pressure and plumbing. The hotel grounds themselves are beautiful with well maintained gardens, 3 pools of which one has a swim up bar where the cocktails were delicious and well priced, loads of chairs, cabana’s etc. The beach bar is also a nice place to hang whilst having a few Bintangs (local beer).

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Bali Garden Beach Resort: ”We have received your e-mail inquiring about our guest policies. Indeed you have to leave the ID of your lady friend at the front office. We are not charging any additional fee if your friend is staying with you overnight”.

Bounty Hotel $$$/$$$

Jalan. Segara Batu Bolong  18 (Poppies 2), Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Bounty Hotel is on a great location just off Poppies 2 right near all the bars, massage parlors, restaurants, discos and just a short walk to the beach. This is definitely more of a party hotel than a place to chill out and relax with a 24 hour swim up bar, where young people travel to get drunk and party the whole time they are there (particularly during Aussie holidays) . A good place for the young and young at heart otherwise look elsewhere. The rooms are nothing special for the price but had everything you need as the bed was clean and comfy, A/C unit worked well, shower was always hot and the room service is fast.he TV has a good range of English speaking channels (something important when nursing a bad hangover!) .

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Bounty Hotel: ”I’m pleased to inform you that our policy for visitor/local girls is, as soonest she arrive at our hotel area she only have to report to our security incharged and provided her ID without any additional fee. The max person to stay in standard room is 2 persons, additional person will be additional fee”.

Flora Beach Hotel $$/$$$

Jalan Bakung Sari 13A, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Flora Beach Hotel is located an alleyway. Which is not a bad thing in Kuta so you are sheltered from the noisy main street area but at the same time near the action and just a 5 to 10 minutes walk from the beach. The room I had was very clean with A/C, TV (with limited English channels),adequate bathroom facilities and a balcony overlooking the pool. Rooms all have free Wi-Fi and the bar had some excellent prices for refreshments. The hotel staff was always  friendly and helpful. Not a bad choice!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Flora Beach Hotel: ”We never charge joiner fee if guest bring back an unregistered guest. We keep their ID just to know the girl you bring to check in. Once again thank you very much for your e-mail and I do hope you book our hotel at Agoda.com“.

Kuta Beach Club Hotel & Spa $$/$$$

Jalan Pantai Kuta, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Kuta Beach Club is located right in the heart of Kuta so it’s close to the beach, bars, restaurants and massage parlors while at the same time providing a safe and quiet environment the minute you enter the resort. I booked the deluxe room during my stay which was clean and comfortable furnished with a good bed, a TV with loads of English speaking stations to choose from, good air-con unit and with a full sized bath/shower and balcony overlooking the gardens. The hotel grounds are impeccably groomed with at it’s center a beautiful pool area with a swim up bar. Staff was absolutely amazing & friendly.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Kuta Beach Club: ”Thank you for your email, regarding to your email we would like to inform you that as long as the number of guest in 1 room are 2 persons, no extra charge will be applied”.

Kuta Seaview Boutique Resort & Spa $$$$

Jalan Bakung Sari 81, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Kuta Seaview Boutique Resort & Spa is impressive in may ways. If you’ve never been to Kuta this hotel sits on the main beachfront street. Right between poppies 1 and 2 (you simply can’t be more centrally located and close to everything possible) it’s only a short walk to the nightclubs, bars, massage parlors etc. But at the same time manages to provide you tranquil settings so you won’t even notice you’re smack in the middle of Kuta once you enter the resort. They even managed to make it it in the TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice for 2012 in the Relaxation & Spa category of Indonesia! The room furnishings are very nice and typical of a 4 star hotel. Clean and spacious with a large & comfy king size bed, flawless A/C unit, flat screen TV, cold well stocked up  fridge, safe, proper bathroom with toiletries and a roomy balcony with day bed, Wi-fi is available but not free. A beautiful pool  area is is located next to the restaurant is the perfect place to have a couple of drinks before a night out. Recommended!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Kuta Beach Club: “Pleased to informed that we permitt / allow staying guest bring friend to stay overnight without extra charge. Present the ID card of your friend is required.”.

Melasti Beach Bungalows & Spa $$$/$$$$

Jalan Dewi Sartika, Kuta Beach, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Melasti Beach Bungalows location is fabulous, you have direct access to the beach near the hotel’s pool area at the back and markets, restaurants, shopping malls out the front. The nightlife is only a 10 minute walk away. The deluxe room was very large and the bed of good quality. The majority have a big balcony to relax on on that overlooks the pool. During my stay the rooms were  always cleaned daily. The pool is a basic but clean and a great place to cool off during the day with a drink.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Melasti Beach Bungalows & Spa Hotel: “If your brink the local girl from disco you have leave the ID card at security post and you can take it back when you finish. Best regards, Noniek -Reservation”.

Mercure Kuta Hotel $$$$

Jalan Pantai Kuta 10 X Br Pande Mas, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Location of the Mercure Kuta Hotel can’t be beat! Just in front of Kuta beach and right next to Jalan Poppies 1 means you are within a few minutes walk distance to all the little massage parlors, bars, restaurants and night clubs. The room was a little small to my liking but perfectly clean and comfortable: Furnished with a queen sized bed, flat screen TV (±60 channels), a balcony with great ocean views, an easily adjustable A/C unit, minibar & safe. The water pressure in the showers was excellent. The rooftop infinity-edge pool is fantastic overlooking the beach and ocean. Free wifi access is only accessible in the lobby though paid internet can be purchased for in-room usage.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Mercure Kuta Hotel: “Refer to your inquiry I would like to informed you that we don’t apply extra charge however please fully understand for any caused may be happened it will be your responsibility. I do hope my response will meet your requirement and looking forward for your reservation in the near future”.

Quest Kuta Central Park Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

Jalan Patih Jelantik, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

The Quest Hotel Kuta Central Park is a new establishment that’s enclosed within a commercial complex. The location is not exactly perfect as it’s 10 minutes walk north of jalan Legian which makes it quite far from the beach but within easy reach of Kuta’s bars and nightlife. The main problem is you have to get through a very busy main road to get there (If you’re used to the traffic in SE Asia it won’t be that much of a deal otherwise you might be in for a scare). As the hotel is all new the  facilities and furniture and are fresh and clean. The rooms are tastefully decorated  and very spacious, beds are big and extremely comfy, Flat screen TV with a large range of English speaking  channels, modern bathrooms, proper A/C unit, in-room safe and free WiFi. The facilities include a swimming pool with a nice infinity style design & a swim-up bar that serve refreshments at decent prices.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Quest Kuta Central Park Hotel : ”Thank you for your email. Please to inform you, there is no additional fee if you bring your guest as you mentioned. Let me know if I can assist you further, Best regards, Gede Pardeata Reservationist”.

Swiss Belhotel International Bali Kuta Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

Jalan Majapahit 18, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia

Location-wise, The Bali Kuta Resort by Swiss Belhotel  is a 10 minute walk north of the Kuta & Legian center and getting all the way to the beach would take you double the time but the hotel provides a regular free shuttle service. The rooms are rather small and the beds took up the majority of the room. Everything was spotless clean. Amenities include: Flat-screen TV,  good A/C unit, mini-bar fridge, bathroom with the hot water and water pressure working perfectly. There is also a small balcony overlooking the pool with two chairs and a table. The pool itself is lovely with a swim up bar that plays great music. Spent lot of time there.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Bali Kuta Resort by Swiss-Belhotel “We are pleased to inform you that we will not charge any additional charge for local girl that your will bring as long as you stay for 2 person in the room. If you stay for more than 2 person in the room, we will charge for additional charge for additional person. Our security will ask the ID card from local girl that your will bring to the resort, this also for your safety if something happen to you”.

Legian guest friendly hotels List:

Bali Niksoma Hotel $$$$

Jalan Padma Utara, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

With rooms starting at 200$+ the Bali Niksoma Hotel certainly isn’t within everyone’s budget. But for those who don’t mind to splurge on a trip I can start by mentioning they have been awarded TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2012 for the Trendiest Hotels in Indonesia. This joint rings all the right bells… The location is second to none, right on the beach and within a few minutes walk of Jalan Double Six (think discos & girls). Rooms are great and very spacious with comfy king sized bed, a 42 inch Flat-Screen TV with great sound system, DVD player, safe, fridge, lovely bathroom, great verandah with views on the beach, resort wide wi-fi, etc… The bar and pool area are lovely with a large 2 level infinity pool that is furnished with ample lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. Definitely recommended if you got the dough!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Bali Niksoma Hotel: “Our registered guest is allowed to bring a companion with him or her as long as the accompanying person is coming together with the registered guest, and not sent or escorted by someone outside the hotel.  The ID card of this person is to be left at the Front Desk and to be taken when she or he is leaving the hotel”.

Dewi Sri Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

Jalan Legian, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The location of the Dewi Sri Hotel is very convenient, just a short 100 meters stroll down an alley and you are in the heart of the action alongside the best bars and clubs that Kuta/Legian has to offer. From there you can reach the beach going through Poppies 2 Lane in a 10-15 mins walk. The Dewi Sri hotel is made of two parts. An old building which holds all the standard rooms and newer buildings with the deluxe ones. While the standard rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need in them I would suggest to upgrade to the superior ones. The small bump in price is well worth it! As these rooms are a lot bigger in size and come with a much more modern decor and great bathrooms. The resort has a nice swimming pool with a great little swim-up bar open 24 hours with some pretty good 2 for 1 specials during the day.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Dewi Sri Hotel“Your local friends just leave her original ID card at security. Regards, Noni”.

Lokha Legian Hotel $$$/$$$$

Jalan Padma, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Lokha Legian Hotel is close to everything Legian has to offer. You walk out and within a minute you’re on Jalan Legian with it’s load of bar & restaurants. The beach it only a 10 min walk down Jalan Padma. Location is superb if you’re looking for a spot with a relaxing nightlife that’s also close to Seminyak. You could walk your way into Kuta square in 20 mins or spend around $1.50 cab fare to reach the clubs and freelance scene of Kuta. Rooms are nice and well maintained with very comfy king sized bed,  Flat Screen TV ‘s and the aircon unit works flawlessly. The Lokha Legian Hotel layout is in a U shape so all rooms overlook the pool which is great with a swim-up bar section. Free WiFi is only available in public areas.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Lokha Legian Hotel: “Regarding to the question, if you want to bring unregistered guest to the hotel overnight please understand that our security will check the body and bag, those guest also should leave the ID card during the stay. They only can take the ID card, once they leave the hotel. Please make sure that you don’t leave the unregistered guest unaccompanied. Also, if you traveling by yourself and planned to have a friend staying overnight, please make sure you have booked for two persons. Please also be aware that when you bring friend to your room, we are not guarantee for any risk happened during or afterward such as loose or damage property”.

Niche Bali Hotel $$$/$$$$

Jalan Legian 190, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Niche Bali hotel is right in the heart of all the action opposite to Poppies 2 lane in the midst of all the clubs & nightlife scene! On a positive note it’s not directly located on the main street but 100 meters up a small alley (where a security guard greets you) which makes it pretty well sheltered from the noise. The beach is a 10 mins walk away. The hotel has recently been renovated and is very clean. The superior room I booked was very modern and had a wall mounted Flat Screen TV with DVD, iPhone/iPod docking station, safe, generously sized bathroom with great hot/cold water pressure and a balcony that looked directly over the pool. Also, the A/C unit didn’t turn off when you left the room so you’d always come back to a lovely cooled room. All the rooms face the pool & pool bar which is next to their restaurant so everything  is conveniently close to hand.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Niche Hotel Bali: “We do not charge any additional funds for this but our security will seek identification from this person regardless of if they are a Westerner or Local Girl. They will take a photocopy of her ID, just like we take identification and or view your passport on arrival. This provides security to all guests in the hotel as we know everyone inside the premises”.

Padma Resort Bali at Legian $$$$

Jalan Padma No 1, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Padma Resort Bali at Legian is right in front of one of the best beach spots of Bali. Located toward the end of Legian it’s also very convenient for nightlife activities as Jalan double Six in Seminyak is less than a kilometer away. The discos/bars of Kuta are a bit further off but still very much doable if you don’t mind a 20 mins walk or a short taxi ride at night. Definitely a good option if you want something with easy access to both Legian & Seminyak without having to deal directly with the craziness of Kuta. Now for the standards of this resort expect first class! Thought it’s certainly not the cheapest option with rooms over 200 USD/night the Padma Resort Bali didn’t win Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2012 Winner in three categories for no reason… All the rooms are beautifully maintained, modern with all the expected amenities of a 5 stars resort to ensure you a great time. The huge pools + swim up bars are an excellent place to relax and cool off during the day while the grounds are all impeccably kept and a real pleasure to stroll around. Absolutely Recommended!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Padma Resort Bali: “Kindly be informed that our room rates is for single or double occupancy per room. We will charge for the additional 3rd person. If you would like to bring an unregistered guest to stay in your room, please register her to our Reception”.

Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana Hotel $$$$

Jalan Melasti 1, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The location of the Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana is good, directly overlooking the quieter end of Kuta beach it’s great a great base for exploring both Legian and Kuta on foot. The rooms are modern, spacious and equipped with extremely comfortable king size beds, beautiful big bathrooms with separate toilets, Flat-Screen TV’s with a great range of channels to chose from and excellent Wi-Fi signal. Rooms are kept immaculate as they are cleaned (non-intrusively) twice a day by the staff. The hotel has two pools, a rooftop infinity pool that looks over to the beach (an awesome spot to view the sunset!) and a main pool that is better shaded during the day and offers a good poolside menu, both have a bar (though no swim-up versions).

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana Hotel: “Further to your inquiry, pleased do reservation for 2 people since your rate will be the same for 1 or 2 people. As long as your partner will be provide the ID, our hotel will appreciate it”.

Royal Tunjung Bali Resort $$$$

Jalan Padma Utara, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Royal Tunjung Bali Resort is in a very good location in the quieter part of Legian. The beach in only a 5 minutes walk away and you are close to a lot of bars and restaurants. Concerning the nightlife it’s strategically located midway between Seminyak’s Jalan Double-Six and the discos of Kuta. The Royal Tunjung is a property of smaller size that houses only seven villas, so the atmosphere is very relaxing. I stayed in the one bedroom villa which was nice and big. The villas have the bedroom upstairs while the living area is downstairs. The kitchen part is very basic with a bench, sink, fridge & coffee/tea making facilities but I doubt you’ve come to Bali to do much cooking. The rooms were always kept very clean and the bed was extremely comfy. The gardens around the villas are also very clean, tidy and well maintained. The pool is not the biggest but since it’s a smaller resort we had it to ourselves most of the time.  Staff were all first class!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Royal Tunjung Bali Resort: “Regarding your question that you would be brought the local girl, it’sok, as long as she is not annoyance us”.

Vilarisi Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

Jalan Melasti / Lebak Bena 15x , Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Vilarisi hotel location is ok. You can hit the beach or Legian Road in just about 10 mins walk while Kuta Square is 30 minutes away. Not a bad alternative for nightlife neither as it’s located midway between the discos of Kuta & Seminyak’s Jalan Double-Six. Only drawback is the hotel overlooks a busy road with lots of traffic noise night & day so if you want your room to be reasonably quiet ask to be a few floors up (at least 2nd or 3rd). The hotel is a bit outdated but the rooms are fine with all the basic amenities, A/C, TV and the toilet was clean with proper hot/cold water pressure. This is by no means not your glamour style resort but you’ll get value for $. Wi-Fi is only accessible only in the lobby or restaurant.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Vilarisi Hotel: “We do not interfere should our guests wish to invite their friends to stay over with them but we will definitely ask for their ID Cards in order to have the record based on above policy. Should your room already include for 2 pax then no additional charge apply, but the next person will be charge accordingly. For Superior and Deluxe room book from Agoda usually already included for 2 guests”.

Villa De Daun Hotel $$$$

Jalan Raya Legian, Legian, Bali, Indonesia

The Location of the Villa De Daun is fantastic! Bang in the middle of Kuta/Legian and within walking distance to everything it’s tucked away just far enough to avoid any noise from the hustle & bustle of the main road. And once you reach the complex it’s a true little piece of paradise! Quiet, luxury, and sublime gardens make this place the perfect getaway. Of course premium service comes at a premium price but if you have no problems shelling out 300$ a night you will get TripAdvisor’s #1 Ranked establishment for specialty lodging in Kuta/Legian. The villas are truly exquisite and furnished with nice & comfy king size beds, large flat screens TV with their own individual surround sound system, big amazing stone bathrooms, alfresco dining rooms complete with kitchen & daily stocked mini bar with all the complimentary refreshments you can think of and last but not least a beautiful private a 8 Meters X 3 pool. Not to forget a personal butler will look after your every wish during your stay. So if it’s true 5 star luxury you’re after and have the budget this is it!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Villa De Daun Hotel: “There will be no extra charge as long the number of person stay based on the room capacity (2 person in one bedroom)”.

Seminyak guest friendly hotels List:

Amadea Resort & Villas
 $$$/$$$$

Jalan Laksmana 55, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Amadeus Resort is a lovely hotel located right smack in the middle of Seminyak on Jalan Laksmana and along the main stretch of road. Expect a breezy 10 minute walk down to the beach and an extra 5 to 10 to reach Jalan Double Six for bars, discos and girls galore. Rooms have lots of space and come equipped with a comfortable bed, balcony (overlooking the pool),  fridge, a safe (big enough for average sized laptop),iPhone/iPod docking station, kettle with instant tea/coffee, good sized bathroom and a TV with lots of channels. Downsides is there is no free Wi-Fi in the rooms (25000 rp/hour) but only in lobby. The pool area is very pleasant and clean with a multitude of deck chairs all around it and a swim up bar section.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Amadea Resort & Villas: “Warmest greeting from Amadea Resort & Villas, a peaceful oasis in Seminyak. Kindly inform that you may invite a girl from the disco, but she would like to leave her ID at the Security Post”.

Artemis Villa and Hotel $$$$

Jalan Camplung Tanduk, Gg-Puri Kubu 63F, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Artemis Villa and Hotel is a great place is for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat that’s within easy reach of everything you need in Seminyak. Located 100 meters up an alleyway it’s directly surrounded by a large choice of bars and restaurants, the beach is a 5 mins stroll away while the nightlife of Jalan Double Six road and it’s lively clubs and bargirls are a 10 to 15 mins walk from your hotel. While there a are some standard bedroom type of accommodations the Artemis is mostly comprised of Apartment & Villas. I tested the apartment style rooms that were very roomy with a living/dining area, separate bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed and outdoor bathroom with shower and separate bath and toilet. The room is a combination of traditional and modern design such as high thatched roof, big open air shower and modern fixtures with everything you could need or want. The pool and bar area is also really nice and never crowded. For the price it’s good value.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Artemis Villa and Hotel:  “Yes, you can do it but we need an ID without fees”.

Casa Artista Hotel Bali $$$/$$$$

Jalan Sari Dewi 17, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Casa Artista Hotel Bali is a small but beautifully kept complex that’s tucked away in a very quiet area 10 to 15 mins walk from Seminyak’s nightlife. The Argentinian owner Stefani has a passion for painting and tango which reflects in this boutique hotels’ fantastic decor. All the rooms (11 in total) that are set around a pool and courtyard  feature extremely comfy beds, large plasma screen TVs, good Wi-Fi signal and well appointed semi-open air bathrooms. Location is pretty good as well since you’re only a few hundred meters from the beach or a 5 to 10 minutes stroll to the main bars and restaurants area.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Casa Artista Hotel Bali: “Warm greetings from Casa Artista…., Yes, you can do it but we need an ID without fees.We look forward to hearing from you soon”.

Kamar Kamar Boutique Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

Jalan Dewi Saraswati III/89, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Kamar Kamar is a cosy little boutique hotel that offers excellent value for money in Seminyak. All the 10 rooms of this small and intimate property are junior suites so you get a posh a living/eating area fully furnished with flat screen TV, CD/DVD player,Wi-Fi, mini-bar, in room safe, etc. As well as a big separate bedroom with extremely comfortable king sized beds and a great A/C unit. The only downside is the location as it’s a good 20 minutes walk from the main Seminyak area and even a bit further away from the beach or nightlife (3KM). This could still be a good option for those planning to hire a motorbike or are hire the cheap taxis as an alternative to foot transportation.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Kamar Kamar Boutique Hotel: “Greetings from Villa Kamar Kamar, We are understand about your request, and we don’t have policy to make our guest is not enjoy in our villa As long as it is not disturbing other guest next door”.

Meriki Hotel $$/$$$

Jalan Drupadi 29, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Meriki is hidden in quiet location only 5 mins walk from Seminyak’s main busy street. From there you can get to most points of interest by foot: The beach (950 meters), Seminyak’s nightlife hotspot (1100 meters) or Jalan Oberoi for it’s reputable bars & restaurants (400 meters). While not being in the 4-star luxury category the Meriki hotel does offers a clean and decent place to sleep in Seminyak for a very low price. Rooms are large and spacious with a kitchenette corner, big beds, LCD TV with DVD, A/C, open-air bathrooms, plenty of hot water at any time night or day & Free Wi-Fi access. Property also has a pool that’s great for a quick dip. In the end the Merkini definitely provides a great bang for your buck for it’s location in expensive Seminyak.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Meriki Hotel: “Yes you can book your room no problem, we only record your guests ID, Thank you and best regards”.

Pelangi Bali Hotel & Spa $$$$

Jalan Dyana Pura, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The main selling point of the Pelangi Bali Hotel & Spa is it’s 5-star beachfront location. Right smack in the middle of the action you have everything you need within easy walking distance: The bars, late-night clubs, restaurants, shops, warungs on the beach, massage parlor girls, etc. it just simply doesn’t get any better than this in Seminyak! Yes the hotel could probably do with a refurb but the rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. What matters in the end is having a good comfortable bed, strong hot water shower/bath, nice and fresh air-con unit on all the time, TV with a lot of English speaking channels, proper Wi-Fi and clean facilities in a safe environments in which the Pelangi Bali Hotel ticks all of these boxes. The Pool is also amazing with a great swim-up bar and the customer service outstanding. The only negative I could think of is there is no in room safe deposit box but you can use those provided at the reception for free.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Pelangi Bali Hotel & Spa: “We are pleased to inform you that it will be fine to bring a girl from the disco in the night during your stay but she has to leave her I’d at the front desk and it will be free of charge unless the girl will join you for breakfast in the morning, so we will charge for the food”.

Putu Bali Villa And Spa Hotel $$$/$$$$

Jalan Petitenget 72x, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Putu Bali Villa And Spa Hotel is in the quieter northern part of Seminyak. The popular beach areas (Ku Da Ta beach) can be easily reached  in either 15 mins walk or a 5 mins cab ride. Some of Bali’s finest bar and restaurants like Potato Head, Woo Bar, Sarong, Biku are directly in it’s vicinity (1-5 mins walk) but getting to the nigh-time action in Jalan double Six for the popular late night clubs and bars is another thing as it’s a little over 2KM meters away. Not the end of the world either as most girls have motorcycle and will be more than happy to have you hop on-board back to the hotel and otherwise getting there if you don’t want to walk is just a short taxi ride away. The Putu Bali is a smaller resort with only 20 villas built in traditional Balinese style cottages that are spread through a lush garden. The villas themselves are wonderful! Modern, clean and comfortable they all come with king size beds, flat screen TVs with surround sound & dvd player, gorgeous outside bathtub and open shower & a small kitchenette with refrigerator. You can leave your air-con on so you come back to a nice cool room as you don’t need the key to turn the power like in a lot of hotels. The Pool is ok and nice to cool off in, breakfast also gets two thumbs up.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Putu Bali Villa And Spa Hotel: “Thank you for your email, Pleased to let you know our capacity in the room 2 person only. If you would like to add anyone else you have to pay extra bed with additional cost USD 50Nett/room/night inclusive breakfast for 1 person”.

Tony’s Villa $$$/$$$$

Jalan Petitenget, Kerobokan, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

Tony’s Villa is located in the Petitenget area far up north in Seminyak. While still close to many popular bars & restaurants like Potato Head, Sarong, Woo Bar, Biku and just a 10 minutes walk to the beach the hotel is not exactly central and It will take you a good 20-30 minutes on foot ( or 5 mins cab ride) to get to the real late-night club and bar scene around Jalan double six. Tony’s Villas still has much going for it with it’s beautiful accommodations set in gorgeous lush gardens with colorful flowers all over, clean and spacious rooms with comfy king sized beds, flat-screen TV, open-air bathroom with proper hot running water, Mini bar and good AC units.  Resort is very well maintained and staff competent and always willing to go the extra mile. The downsides are that there is no in room Wi-fi reception which is only available in lobby. Also the club across the road on week-ends can get pretty loud so ask for a room the furthest in the back.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Tony’s Villa: “Regarding to you below email, you may take your friend to your room without any additional charge and she must bring her ID Card to our reception while she comes to visit you”.

Ao Nang Guest Friendly Hotels

The guest friendly hotels stated below are all located in Ao Nang and within walking distance of the beach, bars and nightlife hot spots of the town. These establishments are also very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them as of March 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. You can check out the reply they provided with the hotels description. All offer both great value and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary from budget to 5 star luxury.

So, where is the action at in Ao Nang?

While the vast majority of the visitors who make their way to Ao Nang are more interested in daytime beach activities and island hopping tours than raucous nightlife this doesn’t mean there’s no bar girl or freelancers on offer. Your best bet for female companionship would be to explore Ao Nang’s dozen or so beer bars which are located directly behind Beach road or walk ± 500 meters up the main road leading to Krabi town then just opposite to Mc Donald’s you have soi with a bunch more.

So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a girl back up to your room everyday for a week then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied entry. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

This Resort is made up of  around 30 bungalows and the facilities include a nice pool with some great views, a gym and restaurant which are all located among perfectly groomed manicured tropical gardens. They have price options to stay in and all are of pretty good value. My bungalow was immaculate with a sparkling clean bathrooms, a veranda with chairs, proper hot water and not a bug inside due to good screens that can open up the whole room up but kept those annoying critters out. 141 Moo 2, Muang, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Last time I was at the Aonang Orchid Resort was in late October (low season) they had some very reasonable rates of 2000 Bath for the Superior Rooms. Prices tend to double here though by mid-November. The rooms are absolutely lovely, clean and spacious with comfortable beds, fridge, TV, big safe that managed to fit my 17 inch laptop, boiler provided with cups &  Tea and Coffee and a lovely balcony overlooking the best pool I had during during my month long trip in Thailand. The location is second to none! The beach, shops, restaurants and bars are all literally within a minute’s walk but slightly set back from the road so there is no trouble with noise.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Aonang Orchid Resort: “Please note that if you stay in the room only 1 person if you have joiner you have not to pay any charge but the girl should bring ID card to copy at the reception. Best regards, Pawinee Laosen -Front Office Manager”.

The Phu Pi Maan is a beautiful high end resort located in a quiet green environment with no traffic noise. To get to the beach you can either walk for around 10-15 minutes (+/- 1 km) where you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants along the way or use the free two way hotel shuttle. The room and bathroom are really big and tastefully decorated with a nice traditional Thai touch to it. Amenities are great and include: Air con, 32 inch flat screen TV and balcony which overlook the pool and the huge limestone mountains that characterizes Ao Nang. They don’t serve any alcohol, but have not problems if you stock up your fridge with it.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Claremont Angkor Hotel: “Please be advised that there is no additional fee for any visitor to our resort unless your room is booked on a single occupancy basis only. The only thing such a visitor has to provide is the ID at the reception”.

Blue Village Resort by Chanintra $$/$$$

105 Moo 3, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Blue Village is In a quieter part of Ao Nang, roughly 700 meters to the beach and an easy walk but they also they offer a free two way mini van transportation. The cottage I had was beautiful, nicely decorated and spotless. Even though Blue Village is not exactly a 5 star resorts, Room are very comfortable. The gardens were well maintained and cottages are not directly next to one another so you’ll get a bit of privacy. All rooms, even the Fan ones, have: TV, shower, safe, free Wi-Fi. Good value for money.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Blue Village Resort by Chanintra: ” Our resort doesn’t collect joiner fee if unregistered guests leave the room before midnight. However, if you make a reservation for two guests per room. They can still share the room ovvernight with you without extra charges :) For guest’s own safety, unregistered guests will be asked to present their I.D. cards to our resort staff”.

Green View Village Resort $/$$/$$$

279 Moo 2 Ao Nang, Thailand

The Green View Village Resort is a tucked back a little bit from the beach and the main bar places but these can be reached in either a 20 mins walk or a few minutes 40 baht by Tuk Tuk ride. The hotel also offers a free shuttle from 9am to 8pm hourly and in my experience there even gave free rides between the hours. The resort surroundings are beautiful and the place is very well maintained. They offer a variety of different styles of accommodation so it’s easy to find one that suits your budget and needs. The most basic are standard fan bungalows in the 20$ range (fan, moskito net, cold shower, but well furnished and clean with a very nice bathroom) to 70$ the Pool Villa room with all the modern amenities.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Green View Village Resort: “Hello, We are pleased to inform you that you can bring your guest overnight without fee. Thank you in advance, Green view village”.

Harvest House $/$$

420/18-19 Moo 2, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Harvest House is a small hotel of  Bed & Breakfast type with an extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location: Near massage centers, tourist spots, nightlife, local eateries & beach is a 10 minutes walk down the hill. Rooms here are spacious and comfortable with large beds, good air-con, TV (with 50 channels), fridge, safe, hot water & Free high speed Wi-Fi. The only draw backs I can think of is there’s no swimming pool and a little noise from passing traffic but that’s from the location on the main road.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Green Town Guest House: “We do allow the customers to bring back a bargirl to sleep overnight as long as the guest will not bring more than two. Accoerding to the hotel policy, the room can be available for two persons in one room. To illustrate that you can bring one bargirl. If you would like to bring more than one bargirl, you have to pay more. Your sincerely, Harvest House”.

Luna House $/$$

470/7-8 Moo 2, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

The Luna house is located a little further away than most of the tourist accommodation in Ao Nang and is around 2KM from the beach. By foot it’ll take you a good 20-25 minutes to get there but a quick tuk-tuk ride will only cost you 20 baht. Facilities at this guest house are clean and  in good condition. Each room is equipped with Air-con, Sat-TV, refrigerator, private bathroom, free wifi and a safety deposit box. I liked the bed and had a really good sleep in it which isn’t always true in all guesthouses. Definitely a good option for those on a bit of a budget and who use their public/private transportation or don’t mind the distance to the beach.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Luna House: ” Happy to informed you that we allow hotel guest to bring outside guest stay overnight. Looking forward to serve you. Best Regards, Mr.Jon”.

Pranang Flora House Hotel $/$$

420/14-15 Moo.2 Aonang Muang, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

The Pranang Flora House’s location is a bit up the hill from the center of Ao Nang but access to town is not that big a deal and doable on foot or you can always hire a tuk tuk if you are feeling lazy. Just a short walk from the bars and restaurants & around 10-15 minutes to get to the beach. This is not the most luxurious hotel in Ao nang but rooms are cheap, clean and big enough with all with all modern amenities: Good king size double bed, flat-screen TV, fridge, in-room safe, hot water & free wi-fi. The area isn’t noisy, rooms feel secure and staff friendly. So all in all the price is of very good value.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Pranang Flora House: “Greeting! from Pranang Flora House, It’s ok it you would like to take one person to your room. The room can stay 2 person in one room or 3 person in one room with extra bed”.

Srisuksant Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

145 Moo 3, Nopparatthara Beach, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

The location of the Srisuksant Resort is in my opinion just excellent, directly across from the more secluded Nopparat Thara Beach. You’ll get to some peace and quiet at night being at the far end of Ao Nang Beach while only a 5 mins walk to main strip of bars and action. Also, boats to the islands for some daytime activities are  a mere 10 meters away. The Seabreeze room I got was spacious, bed was comfy, had a lovely bathroom with rainfall shower and pressure shower, proper AC, LCD TV, mini fridge and Free Wi-fi Free that had a great connection. The resort has two pools one with a swim up bar that’s opened from 10 AM.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the My Home Cambodia Guest House: “Warmest Greeting from Srisuksant Resort, Noppharatthara Beach Aonang Krabi Thailand. We are pleased to inform you visit we not charge joiner. Thank & Regard, kamonphan”.

Swiss Chalet Hotel $

153/6 Moo 3, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

The Swiss Chalet hotel is located a 10 mins walk from Ao Nang Beach and 5 mins to Noppharat Beach. Even cooler it’s less than a 5 mins drive from the jetty, so very handy if you’re coming in by ferry from Phuket. The area is peaceful and the guesthouse is surrounded by luxurious boutique hotels. The room I got was in a really good condition and while basic spacious enough with all the needed facilities: big bed, small fridge, safe, big TV with a few cable channels, closet space, free wi-fi, hot water shower and a balcony. The only negative I can think of was the low water pressure and that the bed was a little hard. Staff is super friendly and speaks a mix of English, German & Thai.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Swiss Chalet Hotel: “This is not a problem. No control and free. You pay for the room and you can do what you want. They just have to be pretty and well :-D Best regards and see you soon, Roland“.

Subic Bay Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated in this short list are located in Subic, along or within walking distance of Barrio Barretto’s nightlife and girly bars action. These establishments  are all very popular with like minded visitors so you don’t have to worry about having any hassles bringing back a guest up to your room at night as long as you make sure she has some proper ID with her. All offer great value for the money and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary anywhere from budget to 5 star luxury.

So where is the action at in Subic?

As far as the Subic Bay scene goes, the Barrio Barreto is the place to be. This area has the highest concentration of western orientated strip clubs and is conveniently located only a 5 minute trike ride from Baloy beach, a cool spot to relax and hang the daytime or enjoy a drink at one of the floating bars.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest friendly, bargirl friendly or girl friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. Quite a few hotels in South-East have a bad habit of adding  a “joiner fee” to your bill and these can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night depending on their policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a lady back up to your room every night then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied her entry. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

White Rock Waterpark and Beach Hotel $$$$

Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barreto, Subic Bay, Philippines

When I traveled here in low season, it was just me and one other guest in this huge high end resort. Felt a bit like I was in a ghost town. Rooms are very nice as you would expect for the 150$ premium price. The White Rock has also a water park that is also made available during the day to visitors.  This place is huge with 3 swimming pools, 2 wave pools and a kids pool plus of course all the advantages of staying in a beachfront resort. Location wise it doesn’t get any better and you’re but a short trike ride from the action.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the White Rock Waterpark and Beach Hotel: “Good day! Yes, you can bring a girl of your choice, as long as you authorize it, please be advised that, we have safety deposit inside the room for your valuables”.

Wild Orchid Beach Resort Hotel $$$/$$$$

Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barreto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Wild Orchid Beach Resort is a great hotel, very well run where everyone knows how to makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The rooms are big with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with good sound proofing. The hotel facilities themselves are excellent! You’ll find on location 3 bars, a 24 hour restaurant & room service, 3 swimming pools not to mention the beach front location. The housekeeping staff keeps the room clean and tidy, changing the bedlinen and towels every day. For those who enjoy a water-sports, Jet skis are available for hire next door to the hotel at a rate of 1500 PHP  per 30 minutes.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Wild Orchid Beach Resort Subic Bay : “Greetings! Yes you can bring a visitor in your room but only one can stay and sleep in the room since you plan to book a room good for 2 adults only which is a deluxe room. Your visitor wont need to provide an ID on arrival as long as he/she is with you”.

Subic Grand Seas $$$

83 National Highway, Barrio Barretto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Subic Grand Seas is one of the relatively newer hotels of Barrio Baretto. The rooms here are cozy and comfortable, spacious, clean, TV has a lot of English spoken channels, the wifi is free though a little slow. The resort has a nice swimming pool which is only 6ft deep. Location is great, market is just across the street and girly bars all over. The dining is tastefully decorated by the beach Beach which in itself ain’t all that great but you don’t go to Subic for the beach, you already know that. Overall a pretty damn good hotel.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Wild Orchid Resort: “Its ok to bring a guest during your stay since our room rate is good for two adults and that include breakfast for two. Thank you”.

Arizona International Resort  $$/$$$

47 National Highway, Barrio Barretto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Arizona is another of the beach-side resort of Barrio Baretto. It’s a bit of an older building where the most basic rooms are in need of some renovation, the Deluxe and up ones are good though and well worth the extra money. Spacious and clean with a good bed, nice big flat TV, good air-con, couch and had everything you would need: Hot shower and clean sheets everyday. On location is a sports bar and a girly bar as part of the resort. A floating bar is about 50 meters offshore and is open until around 9pm at night and you can bill your drinks to your room which removes the hassle of having to take cash onto the water. The girls at the  floating bar are a great laugh and keep the drinks coming.  The Arizona is also just a short walk to all the bars in town.

Guest Friendly policy reply by Arizona International Resort: “Yes we allowed , but one person joiner only because most our rooms it’s good for 2 pax. But it depends what type of room would you reserve, Family room is good for 4. Thank you and please advise”.

Puerto Galera Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated in this list are located in Puerto Galera, along or within walking distance Sabang’s nightlife and girly bars action with one the exception: the Badladz Resort (which is just a 150 PHP motorbike ride away). These establishments are all very popular with like minded visitors so you won’t have any hassles bringing back a guest up to your room at night as long as you make sure she has some proper ID with her. All offer great value for the money and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary anywhere from budget to 5 star luxury.

So where is the action at in Puerto Galera?

As far as Puerto Galera’s nightlife goes, Sabang is the place to be. You’ll find around 6 or 7 girlie bars (often self-described as discos) along the main drag with anywhere from 30 to 50 dancers each and numerous smaller bars along the beach. While the selection is much more limited than in Angeles City, being near the ocean is a big plus since Puerto Galera has some really nice beaches and excellent diving opportunities to offer for those also looking for daytime activities. Getting here from Manila by bus or mini van takes around 3 hours (boat included).

Tropicana Castle Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

Sabang Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

As you first arrive by boat in Sabang, the 1st thing you to catch your attention will is that weird castle at the top of the hill. Welcome to the Tropicana Castle Dive Resort! I really liked the uniqueness of this hotel and the views over the bay and mountains are magnificent. The room was really spacious and tatefully decorated in the caste theme, big bathroom with shower cabin & bath tub, rooms also  have one of the best stocked minibars I think I have ever seen! Considering the room rate VS the facilities and overall hotel experience I would indeed consider it of good value..

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Tropicana Castle Dive Resort: “Thank you for your email and yes, you can bring unregistered guest in your room for overnight without any extra charge for you”.

Mermaid Resort $$$/$$$$

Sabang Beach Puerto Galera, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Mermaid Ressort is located just at the perfect spot! Close to the action but just far enough so you can enjoy some peace and quiet during the night. The service here was top notch with very clean and well equipped rooms: Safe,  Cable TV, Good A/C, marble bathroom, very reasonably priced mini bar that that allows actual use doubled by a nice balcony to sit and enjoy that cold one.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Mermaid Resort and Diving: “Mermaid Resort’s accommodation is basically for double occupancy. If ever you will check-in alone and later you will have a companion, there will be no extra fee for that. However, if there will be a 3rd person in the room, there will be US$10 per night extra charge”.

Sabang Oasis Resort $$$

Sabang Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Sabang Oasis Hotel is also just perfectly located just a minute’s walk from the main strip of bars but far enough so that you can sleep soundly. The rooms are spacious & clean with a bed that has a nice and firm mattress. You can expect the usual amenities such as:  A/C, in room safe, Sat/cable TV, mini bar, Wifi  and good powerful hot water shower. Pretty much all the things that made me feel at home here. On the rooftop is a terrace with a bar & pool which are a  great duo for cooling off after having a few San Miguel’s in the sun.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Wild Orchid Resort: “We dont have any joiner fee policy. Our night guard may ask the name of your visitor to log it but thats all”.

La Laguna Beach Club $$/$$$

La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The cove that the La Laguna Beach Resort is located on has a lovely beach strip right in front of it and is within walking distance to the action of Sabang (10-15 min walk). The rooms have aircon, satellite/cable TV, min bar, safe and proper hot water shower. While fairly basic they do have everything needed and are always kept very clean. Their bar overlooking the bay a great place to mix with others and has absolutely everything you’ll need. TV with lots of international channels, movies, music and a nice pool table to play a few games on.

Guest Friendly policy reply by La Laguna Beach Club & Dive Center: “Thank you for your interest to stay with us … As long as you will pay the room  rate, no additional fee for the extra person . Enjoy your stay”.

Portofino Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

Small La Laguna, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Portifino resort is located on Little Sabang Beach, a 10 min walk from the nightlife and noise of Sabang’s the entertainment area. The basic rooms (see pic) are a little old and could do with a bit of renovation, but they are clean and functional and fine for solo travellers looking for a companion at night. The 1 bedroom units on the other hand are absolutely wonderful. A cool place to chill out is the restaurant and bar area that surrounds a  small swimming pool offering lovely beachfront views.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Portofino Beach Resort : “Hi Sir, Good morning. Regarding your query, there is no additional fee if you bring for an overnight but please be noted that it depends on how many unregistered guest are you planning to bring. If you’re planning to bring only one person it’s ok but if it is higher than one then there will be an additional charge on that. Thank you and looking forward for your visit! Kind Regards, Abby”.

Scandinavian Divers $$/$$$

Big La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

Scandinavian Divers is located on Big La Laguna Beach which is a 10-15 minutes walk from Sabang’s wild nightlife and girly bars action. I have no idea why this place is called the Scandinavian divers as it’s owned and ran by an American guy. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with  A/C, Satellite TV, mini bar, Wif-Fi and a good point to mention, the shower never had any shortage of hot water. There is a Bar, pool and eating area down stairs plus another one up stairs, named the Sky Bar which is also open air giving you options to chose between plenty of sun or shade with Music, TV and a Pool table, just great place to relax and chill.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Scandinavian Divers: “Yes, sure you can do that and we never charge any fee if you bring a guest. Best regards, Peter”

Swengland Beach Resort $/$$

Big La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Swengland Beach Resort is is an older hotel currently being renovated. Rooms are nothing fancy like in most budget accommodations, but they are clean with cable TV, A/C  plus ceiling fan as well. Bathroom is small but the shower’s hot water works. Resort is located in Big Laguna, about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Sabang’s nightlife or a quick ride by boat. Very good value for budget seeking travelers but make sure to bring a flashlight if you’re going to walk at night.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Phoenix Hotel: “Thanks for your e-mail. A guest is welcome, no charge. Hope to see you soon . Swengland Management”.

Badladz Resort $/$$

Muelle Pier, Puerto Galera, Philippines

Rooms at the Badladz are great value for money, basic but very clean and comfortable with fan and air con, hot water showers and TV with a nice restaurant and bar. There’s also a dive shop located within the resort. Location wise, Badladz adventure resort is located in a quiet area of Puerto Galera which is conveniently located right next to ferry pier and at equal of distance from White beach than the nightlife of Sabang. A Motorbike ride will cost you 150 PHP to either.

Guest Friendly policy reply by Badladz Adventure Resort: ”Absolutely! Yes! Expected! Preferred! Encouraged! No fees and no need to register the guest”.

Angeles City Guest Friendly Hotels

Bar Girls from Angel Witch Bar in Angeles city in the Philippines

All the guest friendly hotels stated in this list are located along or within walking distance of Fields Avenue (The Adult Entertainment district of Angeles City) with the exception of the Holiday inn. These establishments are very popular with like minded visitors so you won’t have any hassles bringing back a guest up to your room as long as you make sure she can provide some proper ID. All offer great value for the money and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary anywhere from budget to 5 star luxury.

Where is the action at in Angeles?

Angeles City is home to the famous Fields Avenue, the main nightlife strip (Similar to Walking Street in Pattaya) best known for its high concentration of strip clubs and girly bars that are all crammed into an eight block radius making it without any doubt the biggest adult travel destination of the Philippines and one of the main in South-East Asia. Single men seeking a long term companion with whom to explore the rest of the country often start their tour here. There are also a number of worthwhile go-go bars located outside of this area called “Perimeter Bars” that will require a short tuk-tuk ride.

This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Angeles Beach Club $$$$

Don Juico Avenue, Malabanias Road , Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

The Angeles Beach Club (often referred to as the ABC Hotel) is conveniently located a mere stones throw from Fields Avenue (the walking street of Angeles). Rooms here are spacious, clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities one would expect but also lots of fun! They somewhat of a playboy mansion feel to them with the blue neon lights and velvet padded bedheads. Their pool is opened 24/7 and one of the best…various clubs have hosted some wild events at this hotel over the years. If you want to have fun & enjoy yourself, be where the party is and at the same time have excellent service this is the place to be in Angeles. Definitely not family orientated and top of it’s class.

Oh by the way, want to avoid that rush hour traffic? The ABC Hotel also offers a helicopter service from it’s rooftop for a flat rate of 12500 PHP (280$) to Manila and it’s airport.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Angeles Beach Club Hotel: “With regards to your concern Sir, I am pleased to inform you that our hotel allows a guest to bring in joiners inside their room without additional fee. You can bring in as many guests as you want without any hassle on our end”.

Lewis Grand Hotel $$$

Don Juico Avenue Malabanias Road, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

The Lewis Grand Hotel is located right on Fields avenue about a 1.2KM ( 3/4 of mile) walk from the bars. Not too far, but still somewhat of a distance if you decide to do it on foot but they do have a free shuttle service if you prefer. The room  are extremely well kept & modern with everything you need: Comfortable bed, TV with around 90 channels, huge bathroom with rain style shower head, well stocked mini bar at OK prices, tea & coffee machine and a decent sized balcony for breakfast, etc. The service here is top notch, food is excellent & well presented not to forget the fantastic pool.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Lewis Grand Hotel: “In regards with your queries, we are pleased to inform you Sir that we are not charging you for an additional amount incase that you have a companion in your room”.

Century Resort Hotel $$$/$$$$

Century Complex, Angeles City, Philippines

The Century Resort Hotel is located a few blocks from the walking street and bar scene of Angeles. Shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to get there by foot with advantage that you’ll be shielded from the noise. The superior room I was given had been recently renovated with very nice up to date furniture, came with a comfy bed and a shower with proper hot/cold water pressure, Cable TV, No fridge but the free in room Wi-Fi was fast. Included in the price is free Breakfast. The hotel is also located behind a Casino so anyone interested in a little gamble can have fun.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Century Resort Hotel: Greetings! Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding to your concerned, its ok to bring or stay your guest into your room. There’s no fee for that unless if you request an extra bed for them”.

Holiday Inn Clark Hotel $$$/$$$$

Mimosa Leisure Estate, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

I suppose you all know already what you are getting with the Holiday Inn chain, but this particular branch surpassed my usual expectations. The hotel was really modern and had been recently renovated. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, with a big bed, silent A/C unit and walk in shower. The downside is the location as you’ll need a 10 mins taxi ride to reach the Angeles and it’s nightlife. The hotel does provide a 24/7 car to town and currently charges 300 Pesos (7$) each way.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Holiday Inn Clark Hotel: Greetings from Holiday Inn Clark!  The hotel do not charge additional fee for a joiner, the only time we charge if you will exceed to the room capacity which is 2 adults and 2 children per room. And for security purpose, your guest needs to register”.

Kokomos Hotel & Restaurant $$/$$$

Corner A. Santos Street, Fields Avenue, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

Kokomos is located right in the heart of the action on the Walking Street of Angeles City. The nightlife which can be seen from the is either side of the hotel and enjoyed from open air 24/7 bar & restaurant. There is also a little bar & pool in the back where you can relax and enjoy reasonably priced beer.

The rooms are on the 2nd floor, subject to different levels due it’s location and ongoing parties + music. They are decent and furnished with queen sized beds, cable TV, fridge and air-con unit. For fields avenue, this is a good bargain.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Kokomos Hotel & Restaurant :“We are a VERY guest friendly hotel :) Nothing has changed with regards to our hotel policy. Each of our rooms good for 2 person”.

Orchid Inn Resort $$/$$$

109 Raymond Street, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

The Orchid Inn Resort is another hotel with a great central location right next to the Angeles strip in the middle of many bars and places to eat. Rooms are spacious and very clean with adequate amenities though some are starting to show their age. The Poolside ones are my favorite as they are central in the hotel away from traffic noise. the service here is flawless and the beer always cold. Wi-fi is available in public areas like the restaurant and depending on the location of your room you might be able to pickup a signal..  So all in all this is an average place that can be had sometimes at a very interesting price (depending of the undergoing promos) with an awesome location.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Orchid Inn Resort: “Mabuhay! Thank you for the email… We do not charge any  joiner fee if you have a guest staying overnight. However, she must be of legal age…  “

Phoenix Hotel $$

810 Malabanias, corner of Perimeter Road, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

The Phoenix Hotel is located around 800 meters from the action along the perimeter road. The rooms here are small and basic but with all the necessary amenities such as a fridge, AC unit, satellite with good TV selection and free wi-fi. The pool and area around the bar is great for relaxing at any time of the day. This establishment definitely represents a very good bang for your buck in the budget to mid range hotel category.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Phoenix Hotel: “Thanks for your e-mail. No problem sir if you bring guest to your room and there is no extra fee. Looking forward to your reservation. Thanking you, Rose”.

Wild Orchid Resort $$$

A. Santos corner Johnny’s Street, Angeles City, Clark, Philippines

Perfect hotel for single males, The Wild Orchid Resort is located only three blocks from Fields avenue (the main strip of Angeles city). While the rooms are a bit on the pricey side they are very comfortable and spacious. The air con unit is silent and works good, TV has a good selection of international channels, the  fridge is always well stocked, the in room Wi-Fi is of high speed and the room has good soundproofing. They have two large beautiful 24 hour pools, where both have swim up bars & because of their size, are never full. Two great restaurants with great food and quick service. Staff is always smiling and very helpful

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Wild Orchid Resort: ” We allow an unregistered guest to enter your room as long as you advise or and gave her an authorization and we don’t have any charge for that”.

Boracay Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated below are located on Boracay island and within walking distance of the main disco bars known for it’s bargirl freelance action: Cocomangas, Summer Place, Guilly’s and Club Paraw. The establishments in this list are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them between October and November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. Replies provided by hotel management can be seen at the end of each individual hotels description.

So, Where’s the action at in Boracay?

Things are definitely low-key affairs in Boracay, so don’t expect flashy neon lights showing you the way to any of the many strip clubs on the island, they don’t exist. What Boracay does have to offer is a very lively club scene, which also means a very active freelance scene. Though obviously not on the scale of a Manila or Angeles, the island should have enough bar girls to keep you busy for a while.

Anyone interested in trying out Boracay’s freelance scene should concentrate their time in one of the two most popular clubs: Cocomongas (9PM-10PM onwards in Station 1) and Summer Place (11 PM onwards in Station 2). Girls for hire can also be seen along the beach road at station 2 in various locations hiding in the dark and will approach you as you are walking past them come out of nowhere often 2 or 3 at a time.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest or Guest Friendly / Bargirl friendly/ Girl Friendly simply means that the establishment will accept you taking back an unregistered guest up to your room without charging any extra. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night depending on the hotel’s policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a lady back up to your room every night then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied entry. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Guest friendly hotels located in Boracay :

Nigi Nigi Nu Noos Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Nigis is an institution in Boracay and one of the oldest hotels in business on the island. Located right at the center of all the action on White Beach, even though it’s situated in a very lively spot, all the rooms are very private and on ground level, engulfed by a lush Balinese-style tropical garden making it very quiet and peaceful. While built in native bungalow style the rooms have all the amenities that you could need (TV, A/C, fridge, bathroom, shower  and plenty of space). Restaurant serves great food and the beach bar is one of the best!  You’ll instantly feel like you’re in your second home!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Nigi Nigi Nu Noos E Nu Nu Noos: “If it happens that you booked only one person and you want to have an additional one person overnight then it is okay as all our room rates are good for two persons but they have to present their ID at the reception or to our guard on duty for security purposes.”

Red Coconut Hotel $$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Red Coconut is a beautiful 3/4 star hotel centrally located on white beach.  The deluxe rooms were exceptionally nice and clean and had all the needed amenities. Room is spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the sea and fitted with flats screen TV, DVD player, mini bar, sofa and sofa table, free and very fast Wifi. There were even a few blue ray movies ready for you to watch. Hotel also has a nice swimming pool and bar. You cant go wrong here. Greetings from Red Coconut Beach Hotel! However, you guest would need to provide in ID at the reception.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Red Coconut Hotel: “Greetings from Red Coconut Beach Hotel! If you booked for two (2) people and you arrived alone, we won’t be charging you anything. However, you guest would need to provide in ID at the reception.”

La Isla Bonita Resort $/$$

White Beach, Station 3, Boracay, Philippines

Sandwiched between the Crown Regency and Sands hotel on station 3 La Isla Bonita Hotel is one of the least expensive  hotels of White Beach. If you are on a budget or don’t want to spend too much this is most likely the best bang for your buck you can get right on the beachfront. I have stayed here on my last two trips of 2011 and depending of the season a room between 25$ to 50$. For this price you get a clean and decent sized room with A/C, fridge, cable TV. Only minor complaint is that shower is a bit on the low pressure side. Staff was always very nice and had no problems bringing back a different girl every night.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by La Isla Bonita Resort: ” Thank you for your email, yes you can bring guest to your room but for safety reason, they have to registered here and present Identification card.”

Erus Suites Hotel $$/$$$

White Beach, Station 3, Boracay, Philippines

Room was nice, colorful and modern looking with a big comfortable bed, bathroom very spacious with a rainfall shower, TV and air-con worked great. Breakfast was quite good also. Staff friendly and helpful. Downsides is that the hotel is not beachfront and it takes around 5 minutes to get there. Also since it’s located  right next to main road I could hear street noise from inside the room so  if you are sensitive to tricycle or car noise it might be an issue. PS: If the price isn’t much of a difference go for the superior deluxe it’s much more luxurious.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Erus Hotel & Restaurant Boracay: “Yes, we allow unregistered guests come with you as long as you pay the room for 2. Our security guard on duty will collect their ID before entering the hotel”.

La Carmela de Boracay Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

La Carmela is another centrally located beach front  hotel. The first ever hotel I’ve stayed in back in 2007 when this fabulous island was all new to me.. Aaaaaah souvenirs! Anyways I’ve always booked the semi-deluxe room here that are furnished with a comfortable bed, walk in shower (with plenty of hot water), modern toilet, TV with lots of English speaking channels, mini fridge and usually comes with a terrace/balcony. The beach is only a few seconds away from the hotel pool area. Agoda periodically shows some good promos for this establishment and if you just happen to stumble on one of them I wouldn’t hesitate.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by La Carmela de Boracay Hotel: I couldn’t get an answer from the hotel but I have stayed here quite a few times throughout the years and can assure you that bringing back girls at night is not a problem. You do need to make sure that she has some ID with her as the guard will request it and keep it until she leaves

The Strand Resort Boracay $$$/$$$$

 Station 1, Boracay, Philippines

The Strands is located a 2 to 3 minutes walk from the beach on a slope towards the end of Station 1 (The prettiest portion of white beach) and is a peaceful oasis amongst the tourist throngs that can be found in other parts of Boracay. Also not far at all from Cocomongas one of the two main hotspots for freelancers on the island. What you can expect is a four and a half star accommodation offering spacious rooms furnished with orthopedic beds, good A/C, nice high water pressure in the shower, Free Wifi, nice pool and garden Resort. The staff is also very friendly.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by The Strand Boracay Resort: “Our room rates are all quoted for two persons regardless of whether there are two or just one person in the room. Additional charges apply only for additional persons in excess of two.  And yes, we are, like all other establishments, mandated to require proof of identification of unregistered guests”.

Boracay Garden $$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

The Boracay Garden Hotel is located in the busy commercial area of the white beach with lots of bars, restaurants and convenience stores around. Room I was allocated was spacious and clean. Came with a king size bed, single bed, sofa, TV desk and study table with still enough room to get around. The bathroom was also big with a bath and a shower. The service was very good and the staff were quite helpful. This a very large hotel with a nice pool area (3 giant pools with 1 kiddie pool) that seems to cater to a large South Korean clientele. The one downside is that the in room wifi isn’t free and charged at 100 Pesos an hour.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Boracay Garden Hotel: “Thank you for your email, with reference to your inquiry, Our in house guests are allowed to bring unregistered guest without any additional charge or joiner’s fee. Our resort’s policy is only to get an ID of the joiner (to be returned upon checking out)”.

Nirvana Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

212 Balabag, Boat Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Nirvana Beach resort living roomNirvana Beach resort dining area

The Nirvana Beach Resort may not be a beachfront as its name would suggest but the location is pretty convenient. Only a five minutes walk to White Beach (station 2), D’Mall (largest shopping center of the island with shops, restautants, supermarkets) and D’Talipapa (fresh meat & seafood market). The resort offer serviced condominium/apartment type of accommodations. Every individual unit (good for 4 people) is fully furnished and has two bedrooms, a living room & kitchen corner, dining area, 2 bathrooms/toilets with shower and a big veranda. Great place to share with a buddy where you can bring back girls at night where each has his individual room. The Nirvana Beach Resort also has a small pool and bar. Only minor complains is that the free Wi-Fi signal was low at times and that the water pressure wasn’t always great but otherwise a very nice place!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Nirvana Beach Resort: ”Good Morning, Each of our units are good for up to 4 guests (included in the room price). Our policy is to register anyone who overnights at the resort.  Thanks & Brgds, Trond”.

One Crescent Place Hotel $$$/$$$$

Station 1, Boracay, Philippines

This ia an all new hotel located about 3-5 minutes (220 meters to be exact!) from White Beach and conveniently located in a quiet street. The building is  low-rise with 3 floors. Rooms are really nice and modern, well appointed and most importantly immaculately clean. Features good quality bed, split type aircon, TV with cable, fridge, coffee/tea maker, DVD player, Free in room wifi, hot and cold water for the shower and balcony or terrace.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the One Crescent Place Hotel Boracay: “It’s OK to bring a joiner to the hotel to stay in your room. For example, you booked a Deluxe Room and you are the only one who will occupy it, you can bring a person (only 1 person) without charge. But if you happen to bring two in your room, you will pay for the 3rd person. However, deluxe room can only accommodate two persons so if in case there will be three of you in the room, better try the Premier Room. It comes with 1 queen-sized bed and 1 single bed while Deluxe Room comes with 1 double-sized bed. Please be noted”.

Isla Gecko Resort $$/$$$

Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Isla Gecko is is located in a quite residential area, about 3 minutes from the beach and not far the party scene. While definitely not a five star resort nor even a three star resort in some aspects the rooms were always clean with a fine working air-con unit. The TV came with a huge range of cable channels to choose from. The shower’s  water pressure was a bit on the low side though. Rooms have free wi-fi internet. The owner and staff was always very friendly and helpful.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Isla Gecko Resort Boracay: “Regarding your query, registered guest(s) can bring unregistered guest based on the maximum allowable of the room. Meaning if you get a standard room for two people than the maximum number of occupants is two”.

Boracay Courtyard Beach Resort $/$$

Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

I have stayed at the Boracay Courtyard twice already in 2009 & 2010 due to budget constraints. The room is very basic but comes with air conditioned, cable TV,  hot and cold shower and a mini cabinet where you can store your belongings. In my experience is the cheapest option for a budget accommodation that’s within a minute of white beach with those kinds of amenities. Included in the price is a free buffet breakfast, but you have to go to La Carmela (their more upscale sister resort) which is minutes away. Staff were always very friendly. This is the kind of place that allows to experience one of the top ten beaches in the world, without burning a hole in the pocket. If you intend to spend a lot of time in the hotel, you should definitely go look elsewhere.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Boracay Courtyard Beach Resort: Though I haven’t gotten a reply from the e-mail address provided on their website I can say since I have personnaly stayed here a few times and it was never a problem bringing back a girl at night to my room“.

Alliance Villa

Manila Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated below are located within walking distance of the three main areas of Manila known for it’s bargirl and freelance action: The Ermita & Malate district and Makati. These establishments are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them as of November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. The replies provided by the hotel management can be seen at the end of each individual hotels description.

So, Where’s the action in Manila?

While you can find bars with girls sparsely sprinkled just about anywhere in Metro Manila the biggest concentration is to be found in two main areas. The biggest and oldest is downtown in the Ermita & Malate district where you can find loads of freelancers in one of the many lively bars along M.H.Del Pilar and Mabini street such as L.A. Café (24 hours), G-spot and Amazonia. The second, only a short cab ride away is located in the more upscale business district of Makati around Burgos Street and is known to have the best looking entertainers and bikini bars of Manila. The prices are accordingly steeper but this is a good place to start for newcomers to the Philippines who will find many similarities with Bangkok’s Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza.

Guest friendly hotels located in Makati :

Hyatt Hotel and Casino $$$$

1588 Pedro Gil Cor. M.h. Del Pilar Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

The Hyatt is one of the more recent hotels in its category, which shows in the amenities and building. Room are big, spotless  and the bed extra comfortable. Rooms were actually made twice a day both in the morning and at night as I noticed after going out at night. Right in the middle of the action in Malate/Ermita…

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Manila Hyatt Hotel & Casino: “Greetings from Hyatt Hotel & Casino Manila! We do not have additional charges for any additional guests you may want to bring to your room. In case of additional breakfast or use of the hotel facilities, additional charges may apply”.

LPL Suites Greenbelt $$

112 Legaspi Street, Legaspi Village, Makati, Luzon, Philippines

Don’t worry to much about the rundown looks of the building exterior, once inside the LPL Suites, you’ll be greeted by the cozy and warm ambiance of the reception. Overall, I’ve been quite satisfied with the standards of the apartment. The hall, rooms and dining area are all very clean. The hot water was always available quickly upon turning on the shower and  the best part of it, the hotel is situated just opposite to Greenbelt 5.. In the end beyond our expectation for a budget apartment stay in this prime location.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by LPL Suites Greenbelt: “Thank you for your interest and we are pleased to inform you that its okay to bring a companion every night as long as he/she presents an ID at the front desk officer for identification and security purposes and of course with your permission”.

Makati Palace Hotel $$/$$$

5011 P. Burgos Corner Canceres Sts.Manila, LuzonPhilippines

Location doesn’t get any better than this in Makati! Just on the corner of Burgos street and it’s girlie bars, everything you may need is with-in walking distance. My room had a terrific view over Manila and it was quite big. The king size bed was pretty comfortable and despite the heavy traffic noise in the morning I slept well. Minibar prices are ridiculously high but there is a 7-eleven on the corner where you can get everything you need to fill it up at a fraction of the price. In the end I feel for the price of the rooms and prime location, the hotel was very good value for my money. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for cheap affordable accommodation.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Makati Palace Hotel:Thank you for the interest staying in our hotel. We are the friendliest hotel in Makati, that’s why we are allowing joiner to stay with the guest overnight without any charge except that we would be asking a valid identification and need to register for our guest safety. We are looking forward in welcoming you and your guest! Thank you. Best Regards, Shiela“.

New World Makati City $$$$

Esperanza Street Corner Makati Avenue, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Hotel is centrally located in the Makati district just to Greenbelt! A place where you can be sure not to be hassled by beggars and peddlers of all sorts in a very secure environment. To keep it short… Everything was perfect, to the soft beds and pillows to the amenities available in the rooms. Great view of the business district from the window. They also have a nice pool, a number of bars and restaurants to choose from and spa services. Only downside is the bathtub that I felt was a bit too small to use if you are a tall sized European (No biggie) and that there was no free wifi or internet connection.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the New World Hotel Makati City: “Regarding your inquiry for the additional guest, our room only rates are  good for 1 or 2 persons. We only require additional charge for the third person which is Php 1000 and Php 1500 if it is with breakfast. Regards, Angelique Abalon, Reservations Department”.

Best Western Oxford Suites Makati $$$$

Durban corner P Burgos Street, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Oxford Suites is also located right in the heart of the night life of Makati… Clearly that’s not for families as it’s on the corner of Burgos Street with its go-go bars and all that entails. Room was spacious and clean, the furniture, TV, Air Con and bathroom all in good condition, staff friendly and the food was awesome, I noticed only one minor problems as the water pressure was a bit on the low side..

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Best Western Oxford Suites Makati: ”Please be advised that we do allow unregistered visitors to stay overnight without additional joiner’s fee, but as a standard security measure (especially for the safety of our guests), we recommend a valid ID be left at the security desk”.

Royal Bellagio Hotel $$/$$$

5010 P. Burgos Street, Poblacion, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Royal Bellagio Hotel bedroom viewRoyal Bellagio Hotel bathroom

The best selling point of the Royal Bellagio Hotel is it’s location smack in the middle of Burgos street (Manila’s red light district)  it just doesn’t get any better than this! Room was a bit small but fine for a solo traveler, everything is very clean and well maintained with all the expected basic amenities: Comfortable bed,  mini-bar, A/C, TV with a good choice of channels and a very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside I could think of was the missing in room safety box. TIP: Try to get a room higher up to avoid street noise.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Royal Bellagio Hotel  “Sir all room are good for 2 persons regarding visitor policy sir its up to you if you want to register her or not for unregistered guest we have to call you every time visitor will leave the room, and she must bring a valid id and register on our VISITORS LOGBOOK.

Peninsula Hotel Manila $$$$

Corner of Ayala And Makati Avenues Makati City, Manila, Philippines

The Manila Peninsula is a lovely, well run, top of the line hotel in Makati, the modern central district of Manila. The hotel doesn’t have all the polished opulence of the Hong Kong Peninsula, but Manila’s not HK after all. The rooms are large, very well equipped and attractively decorated. The beds well, once you drop into it you are guaranteed a blissful night’s sleep. Everything is clean and everything works perfectly as would be expected by a 5 star establishment. Breakfast is simply outstanding, something I looked forward to each morning.. There is extensive security entering the grounds, which reflects the reality of life in Manila rather than on the hotel. The level of service is typical of any five star Asian hotels.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Peninsula Manila: “Please be advised that the hotel does not charge joiner fee as long as it will only be for overnight (excluding breakfast) and the name of the joiner will be registered with the Front Desk”.

Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences $$$$

119 LP Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati, Manila, Philippines

The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences is located a very short walk from Greenbelt, where the neighborhood is safe and clean. So you won’t really need a taxi or a driver to get around anywhere in Makati from here. The rooms and amenities are outstanding, Ultra modern, clean and and comfortable. Same goes for the bathroom. Also, excellent in-room WiFi connection.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences: “Our rooms have a maximum occupancy of 2 adults. Shall there be third person to occupy the room, an additional charge of 1250php per night shall apply. As long as you do not exceed to the maximum occupancy there would be no charge for any extra person for the stay”.

Guest friendly hotels in Ermita & Malate

Executive Plaza Hotel $$/$$$

1630 A. Mabini Street , Malate, Manila, Philippines

This is not a fancy hotel. You won’t get a huge Las Vegas lobby, large pillars, or vast amenities. But what you’ll get  however, is a large well-looked after room, excellent service by uniformed staff  and a safe premises. Locations  is great as Robinson’s Mall is a 2 block walk , the world-famous LA Cafe (renamed Manila Bay Cafe these days) is just 3 blocks away and the Bay walk 4. Also the Hyatt with the big casino is across the street.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Executive Plaza Hotel: Warmest Greetings from Executive Plaza Hotel! Yes, joiner is allowed inside the room and there is no additional fee as long as you only bring one. Yes, ID will be presented upon check in“.

Las Palmas Hotel $$/$$$

1616 A. Mabini Street Malate, Manila, Philippines

Stayed in the Las Palmas hotel a few times in the past.  The cheaper rooms are a bit small though reasonably priced . Beds are very comfy and the place always kept clean. You get lots of channels on TV in English and A/C unit works well. The bathroom is spacious enough and the shower is hot and powerful. Only downside is the pricey internet. Located right in the heart of Malate it’s but a short walk from several hotshots for nigh time entertainment. Security in Las Palma is good and never had any problems letting valuables in the room. TIP: Be sure the guest you bring back has proper ID as they are strict about this policy.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Las Palmas Hotel: We are pleased to inform you that our Standard room that can accommodate 2 persons already. Just make sure your guest has a valid ID.”

1227 A. Mabini corner Padre Faura Sts., Ermita, Manila, Philippines

The Lotus Garden is a newly refurbished  hotel in Malate that has unbeatable rates and a prime downtown location. Clean rooms, Free Wi-Fi, Free breakfast buffet, staff is friendly and competent. Security will ring up your room you by phone when you’re visiting “guest” leaves the hotel. Simply the best value for your money if you’re looking for something in the Ermita\Malate district.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Lotus Garden Hotel Manila: I have stayed here on my two previous trips to Manila and never have had any problems bringing a girl back to the room with me. Just make sure to book for two in Agoda (price is the same).

Orchid Garden Suites $$/$$$

620 Pablo Ocampo Sr. St. Malate, Manila, Philippines

This hotel wasn’t built yesterday and the age shows. However, this was of no great consequence to us as the comfort level was good. The room are a little tight but clean and well furnished. The suites on the other hand are very spacious with bedroom, living room and kitchen area. The staff, as often in the Philippines, was kind and helpful.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Orchid Garden Suites: “We are please to inform you that we have rooms inclusive for two persons already, Inclusive of buffet breakfast. In regards to your concern, if a guest who’s with you that time is not registered in our system, she may need an identification card and she needs to log to our security guards log book, by the time she will go out she will tell to our security guard on what room she came from and then the security will call to your room to confirm that person who’s been to your room is freely to go out”.

Riviera Mansion Hotel $$$

1638 A. Mabini Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

I initially selected this hotel based on other travelers reviews from Tripadvisor. I can tell you that the hotel pictures don’t lie. Rooms were recently renovated, clean and comfortable. Over 80 channels on the TV and good A/C while a bit noisy at times if left on high. The Riviera Mansion is only a couple of minutes from LA Cafe (now called Manila Bay Cafe). Will cost you but a couple of dollars for a taxi ride to Makati, Mall of Asia or Greenbelt.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Riviera Mansion: “For security reasons, below is the hotel’s joiners policy:  Unregistered guest are allowed to stay overnight if accompanied by the registered guest. Only two persons are allowed to stay in the room without additional charge. Unregistered guest has to provide an ID upon entering  the hotel premises and to be retrieved upon leaving.  The registered guest should call the guard to allow the unregistered guest to leave the hotel”.

Rothman Hotel $$/$$$

1633 M. Adriatico Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

I stayed here for 3 days and I had an great stay. It’s very close to all attractions of Malate and Ermita and has very good amenities & clean rooms with backup generators, soft comfortable beds, Cable TV and fridge. There is no free wifi in the rooms and you have to buy internet cards.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Rothman Hotel: Warmest greetings from ROTHMAN HOTEL! below is the hotel’s joiners policy:  Unregistered guest are allowed to stay overnight if accompanied by the registered guest. Only two persons are allowed to stay in the room without additional charge. Unregistered guest has to provide an ID upon entering  the hotel premises and to be retrieved upon leaving. Minors who are not related to the registered guest are prohibited to enter the guest’s room.l”.

Sofitel Plaza Manila Hotel $$$$

CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard Pasay, Manila Bay, Manila, Philippines

The room are  squeaky clean, spacious and elegant. The bed and pillow really comfy, plus the balcony and the view is really a plus factor, a magnificent view of the pool and the Manila Bay area. The only downside was that the WiFi wasn’t included in the price. The price was much lower than I paid at the Makati Shangri-La’ for similar amenities.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel: “Please be informed that the room can accomodate two (2) Adults and two (2) children below 12 years old. If you will be staying alone in the room and the joiner will just come when you arrive, there will no additional charge. However, please be informed that its the hotel’s policy to register the name of the joiner and ID will be checked as well”.

Swagman Hotel $$

411 A Flores StErmitaManila, Luzon 1000Philippines

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times since my first trip in 2007, it is now under new management and sadly they have made significant staff cuts. The Swagman is not the Ritz but in the economy class hotel level. It still could be a good option for 1st time visitors to the country as they offer  free pickup and transfer services to the airport & bush shuttles to other mongering parts of the country such as Angeles, Subic bay, Puerto Galera, etc.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Swagman Hotel: “The room is for 2 persons, so if you are only one, and you would bring a guest with you. The charge is still the same.”.

Pan Pacific Manila $$$$

M. Adriatico Corner Gen. Malvar Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

The Pan Pacific  is a pretty good value compared to other genuine five star hotels in Manila, which will easily go for twice the price & up. Check in fast and friendly with welcome drinks. The standard room was roomy and well appointed with a beautiful view of the Manila Bay. The bathroom was also roomy and has a sliding window which divides the bath tub (which has it’s own TV) from the bedroom. The room’s king size bed was wonderfully relaxing and came with crisp white sheets and down feathered pillows. Comes with complimentary internet access and a big LCD TV. The Pool area was always quiet during my stay with plenty of chairs for sunbathing.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Pan Pacific: “Greetings from Pan Pacific Manila! You may allow to bring back unregistered guest overnight without any joiner fee. And yes sir, guest will have to provide ID upon their check in at the reception..”

Alliance Villa

Siem Reap Guest Friendly Hotels

The bar girl friendly hotels stated below are all centrally located in Siem Reap and within walking distance of Pub street, the major nightlife spot of the city. In the few instances where they might be slightly out of the way I made sure to mention just how long of tuk tuk ride (from 5 to 15 minutes) it is to the center. These establishments are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them as of November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. You can check out the reply they provided with the hotels description. All offer both great value and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary from budget to 5 star luxury.

Where is the action at in Siem Reap?

The bulk of the visitors who make their way to Siem Reap are more interested into daytime visiting of nearby temples than partying but this doesn’t mean there’s no mongering to be had. Most of the popular downtown bars are close to the river and market, down the appropriately named Pub Street. Freelancers which are referred to as taxi-girls in Cambodia are found roaming the bars in this part of town and more specifically at Martini Nightclub and Beer Garden, the liveliest disco in town. The Bakeng Night Club located on sivutha street near the night market is also packed full with dancing Khmer youngsters by 10pm every night. Then the Zanzy Bar, a late night dive also on sivutha street has scores of working girls.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest or Bargirl friendly / Guest Friendly / Girl Friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night but could be even higher depending on the hotel policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a girl back up to your room everyday for a week then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied entry since Cambodian hotels are generally more strict than their Thai counterparts. Just to give you an example, out of the 160 that I contacted in Siem Reap only 25 responded favorably.. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

The staff are wonderful, too and on top of that  you get a free buffet breakfast with bacon, eggs, toast, tomatoes, pancakes, hash browns, fruit, tea and coffee which makes an excellent start to the day!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Mekong Bed & Breakfast  “Many thanks for your prompt reply; that would be fine if you book a room for double or twin room (2pax). In here we will offer you on complementary and just require her to show her ID Card at receptionist because we need to secure and make the guest safety“.

Green Town Guest House $

182 Street 21, Wat Bo, Central, Siem Reap, Cambodia

This place is fantastic if you’re traveling on your own on a tight budget. Don’t expect anything fancy but the rooms are big and clean.. Staff is very friendly, free internet & WiFi. Good location as well. My criticisms were that the laundry service on site is a waste of time, slow and ineffective.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Green Town Guest House: “Greeting from Green Town guesthouse i would like to confirm you that  when you want to bring girls into room  you have to ask for ID card to provide at the reception and i don’t charge for extra fee”.

Golf Angkor Hotel $

National Road 6, Phoum Krous Svay Dangkum, National Road 6, Siem Reap, Cambodia

The rooms at the Cozyna Angkor Hotel are big with excellent balconies and wood throughout. Definitely beautiful rooms for the price. Upsides are great staff, restaurant and excellent Khmer and Western free breakfast. The staff is very attentive.  Downsides during my stay were the very noisy maids who wake you early with constant banging.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Golf Angkor Hotel: “Thanks for your mail, you can bring joiner without charge but she can’t eat breakfast in our restaurant. All guest will register up on arrival and joiner also copy ID to. Also she can’t eat breakfast in our restaurant unless book room for two“.

Parklane Hotel $

Steet Tapoul , Tapoul Village, Svay Dangkum Communce, Central, Siem Reap, Cambodia

For around 20 USD/night, I was initially concerned that the low price meant that the quality of the rooms wouldn’t be very good. Other positive online reviews  convinced me to give ii a try and am very glad that I did. For a clean hotel, centrally located that includes a decent breakfast and complimentary Internet, you can’t go wrong. Has big rooms and hot water. Walking distance from pub street, the main restaurant/bar street in Siem Reap. The only downside is that WiFi has no access from the 4th Floor up… You must go to the lobby and restaurant to access the it.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Parklane Hotel: “Thank you for supporting our hotel, if you would provided your passport,he or she is your guest there will be no problem with us.”.

Angkor Palace Resort & Spa $$$$

555 Khum Svay Dang Khum, National Road 6, Siem Reap, Cambodia

A great out-of-town base for touring the temples. Our bedroom and bathroom were large, stylish, clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful and everyone we met went out of their way to make us welcome here. The piping hot water was great at bath/shower time  after a long day visitng the temples. The pool area and gardens were a delight to relax in. I would highly recommend the Resort to anyone looking for 5 star accomodations in Siem Reap as it had some excellent value.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Grand Soluxe Angkor Palace Resort & Spa: “Thanks for your reply. Regarding to your email, kindly be informed that we don’t charge the joiner but the joiner should provide ID to reception at night.”

Lovely hotel with some exceptional service. Room is spacious with huge comfortable mattress, bathroom is clean and equipped with everything you’d wish for. Although a bit out of time the 10 min tuktuk ride costs only $2. Breakfast is also excellent and had everything you could wish for, both European and Asian dishes.  The pool bar is lovely and don’t miss the beds where you can lay and have your drinks.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Angkor Palace Resort & Spa Hotel: “Pertaining to your inquiry with booking at our hotel, one room is privileged for two people and if you reserve and put only person, then the another one unregistered person is not charged.”

Sihanoukville Guest Friendly Hotels

The bar girl friendly hotels stated in this list are all found in Sihanoukville along or within walking distance of one of it’s many popular beaches: Ochheuteal Beach, Serendipity Beach or Victory Beaches. They are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have taken the time to personally contact each and every single one in November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. You can check out the reply they provided with the hotels description. All of these establishments offer both great value and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary from budget to 5 star luxury.

Where is the action at in Sihanoukville?

In Sihanoukville your best bet is to try the beer bars in victory hill and around the golden lion roundabout or head downtown for the freedom bar and hunny bunny bar. On Ochheuteal Beach look for the dolphin, chivas shack or jack shack bars. Most of the other freelancers which are referred to as called taxi girls in Cambodia are found at the freedom bar and utopia and later roaming the beach until the early hours. Last but not least there’s the chicken farm, the local P4P scene. It’s basically a long row of huts and shacks set up along a dirt road on the edge of town.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest or Bargirl friendly / Guest Friendly / Girl Friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 15 to 25$ a night but could be even higher depending on the hotel policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a girl back up to your room everyday for a week then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied entry since Cambodian hotels are generally more strict than their Thai counterparts. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them a personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Holiday Hotel Sihanookville room Holiday Hotel Sihanookville view from the exterior

In the main tourist area of sihanoukville. Close to beach. Good restaurants directly across the road. Hotel can arrange tours and book bus tickets. Room was spacious (tiled wall to floor), aircon is dated and noisy but effective, Wifi available in rooms but very slow. TV had good reception. Bedding and towels changed every day. Hot water was OK. The only negative was the breakfast, cold and congealed fried eggs with really weak tea, rice porridge was horrid. Had toast with jam every day as it was safest.
