Subic Bay Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated in this short list are located in Subic, along or within walking distance of Barrio Barretto’s nightlife and girly bars action. These establishments  are all very popular with like minded visitors so you don’t have to worry about having any hassles bringing back a guest up to your room at night as long as you make sure she has some proper ID with her. All offer great value for the money and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary anywhere from budget to 5 star luxury.

So where is the action at in Subic?

As far as the Subic Bay scene goes, the Barrio Barreto is the place to be. This area has the highest concentration of western orientated strip clubs and is conveniently located only a 5 minute trike ride from Baloy beach, a cool spot to relax and hang the daytime or enjoy a drink at one of the floating bars.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest friendly, bargirl friendly or girl friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. Quite a few hotels in South-East have a bad habit of adding  a “joiner fee” to your bill and these can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night depending on their policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a lady back up to your room every night then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied her entry. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

White Rock Waterpark and Beach Hotel $$$$

Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barreto, Subic Bay, Philippines

When I traveled here in low season, it was just me and one other guest in this huge high end resort. Felt a bit like I was in a ghost town. Rooms are very nice as you would expect for the 150$ premium price. The White Rock has also a water park that is also made available during the day to visitors.  This place is huge with 3 swimming pools, 2 wave pools and a kids pool plus of course all the advantages of staying in a beachfront resort. Location wise it doesn’t get any better and you’re but a short trike ride from the action.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the White Rock Waterpark and Beach Hotel: “Good day! Yes, you can bring a girl of your choice, as long as you authorize it, please be advised that, we have safety deposit inside the room for your valuables”.

Wild Orchid Beach Resort Hotel $$$/$$$$

Baloy Long Beach, Barrio Barreto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Wild Orchid Beach Resort is a great hotel, very well run where everyone knows how to makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The rooms are big with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with good sound proofing. The hotel facilities themselves are excellent! You’ll find on location 3 bars, a 24 hour restaurant & room service, 3 swimming pools not to mention the beach front location. The housekeeping staff keeps the room clean and tidy, changing the bedlinen and towels every day. For those who enjoy a water-sports, Jet skis are available for hire next door to the hotel at a rate of 1500 PHP  per 30 minutes.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Wild Orchid Beach Resort Subic Bay : “Greetings! Yes you can bring a visitor in your room but only one can stay and sleep in the room since you plan to book a room good for 2 adults only which is a deluxe room. Your visitor wont need to provide an ID on arrival as long as he/she is with you”.

Subic Grand Seas $$$

83 National Highway, Barrio Barretto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Subic Grand Seas is one of the relatively newer hotels of Barrio Baretto. The rooms here are cozy and comfortable, spacious, clean, TV has a lot of English spoken channels, the wifi is free though a little slow. The resort has a nice swimming pool which is only 6ft deep. Location is great, market is just across the street and girly bars all over. The dining is tastefully decorated by the beach Beach which in itself ain’t all that great but you don’t go to Subic for the beach, you already know that. Overall a pretty damn good hotel.

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Wild Orchid Resort: “Its ok to bring a guest during your stay since our room rate is good for two adults and that include breakfast for two. Thank you”.

Arizona International Resort  $$/$$$

47 National Highway, Barrio Barretto, Subic Bay, Philippines

The Arizona is another of the beach-side resort of Barrio Baretto. It’s a bit of an older building where the most basic rooms are in need of some renovation, the Deluxe and up ones are good though and well worth the extra money. Spacious and clean with a good bed, nice big flat TV, good air-con, couch and had everything you would need: Hot shower and clean sheets everyday. On location is a sports bar and a girly bar as part of the resort. A floating bar is about 50 meters offshore and is open until around 9pm at night and you can bill your drinks to your room which removes the hassle of having to take cash onto the water. The girls at the  floating bar are a great laugh and keep the drinks coming.  The Arizona is also just a short walk to all the bars in town.

Guest Friendly policy reply by Arizona International Resort: “Yes we allowed , but one person joiner only because most our rooms it’s good for 2 pax. But it depends what type of room would you reserve, Family room is good for 4. Thank you and please advise”.

Puerto Galera Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated in this list are located in Puerto Galera, along or within walking distance Sabang’s nightlife and girly bars action with one the exception: the Badladz Resort (which is just a 150 PHP motorbike ride away). These establishments are all very popular with like minded visitors so you won’t have any hassles bringing back a guest up to your room at night as long as you make sure she has some proper ID with her. All offer great value for the money and good service while the rates themselves can greatly vary anywhere from budget to 5 star luxury.

So where is the action at in Puerto Galera?

As far as Puerto Galera’s nightlife goes, Sabang is the place to be. You’ll find around 6 or 7 girlie bars (often self-described as discos) along the main drag with anywhere from 30 to 50 dancers each and numerous smaller bars along the beach. While the selection is much more limited than in Angeles City, being near the ocean is a big plus since Puerto Galera has some really nice beaches and excellent diving opportunities to offer for those also looking for daytime activities. Getting here from Manila by bus or mini van takes around 3 hours (boat included).

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest friendly, bargirl friendly or girl friendly simply means that the establishment will allow and won’t charge any extra to take back an unregistered guest up to your room. Tropicana Castle Resort $$/$$$/$$$$

Sabang Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

As you first arrive by boat in Sabang, the 1st thing you to catch your attention will is that weird castle at the top of the hill. Welcome to the Tropicana Castle Dive Resort! I really liked the uniqueness of this hotel and the views over the bay and mountains are magnificent. The room was really spacious and tatefully decorated in the caste theme, big bathroom with shower cabin & bath tub, rooms also  have one of the best stocked minibars I think I have ever seen! Considering the room rate VS the facilities and overall hotel experience I would indeed consider it of good value..

Guest Friendly policy reply by the Tropicana Castle Dive Resort: “Thank you for your email and yes, you can bring unregistered guest in your room for overnight without any extra charge for you”.

Mermaid Resort $$$/$$$$

Sabang Beach Puerto Galera, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Mermaid Ressort is located just at the perfect spot! Close to the action but just far enough so you can enjoy some peace and quiet during the night. The service here was top notch with very clean and well equipped rooms: Safe,  Cable TV, Good A/C, marble bathroom, very reasonably priced mini bar that that allows actual use doubled by a nice balcony to sit and enjoy that cold one.

Guest Friendly policy reply by The Mermaid Resort and Diving: “Mermaid Resort’s accommodation is basically for double occupancy. If ever you will check-in alone and later you will have a companion, there will be no extra fee for that. However, if there will be a 3rd person in the room, there will be US$10 per night extra charge”.

Sabang Oasis Resort $$$

Sabang Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Sabang Oasis Hotel is also just perfectly located just a minute’s walk from the main strip of bars but far enough so that you can sleep soundly. The rooms are spacious & clean with a bed that has a nice and firm mattress. You can expect the usual amenities such as:  A/C, in room safe, Sat/cable TV, mini bar, Wifi  and good powerful hot water shower. Pretty much all the things that made me feel at home here. On the rooftop is a terrace with a bar & pool which are a  great duo for cooling off after having a few San Miguel’s in the sun.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Wild Orchid Resort: “We dont have any joiner fee policy. Our night guard may ask the name of your visitor to log it but thats all”.

La Laguna Beach Club $$/$$$

La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The cove that the La Laguna Beach Resort is located on has a lovely beach strip right in front of it and is within walking distance to the action of Sabang (10-15 min walk). The rooms have aircon, satellite/cable TV, min bar, safe and proper hot water shower. While fairly basic they do have everything needed and are always kept very clean. Their bar overlooking the bay a great place to mix with others and has absolutely everything you’ll need. TV with lots of international channels, movies, music and a nice pool table to play a few games on.

Guest Friendly policy reply by La Laguna Beach Club & Dive Center: “Thank you for your interest to stay with us … As long as you will pay the room  rate, no additional fee for the extra person . Enjoy your stay”.

Portofino Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

Small La Laguna, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Portifino resort is located on Little Sabang Beach, a 10 min walk from the nightlife and noise of Sabang’s the entertainment area. The basic rooms (see pic) are a little old and could do with a bit of renovation, but they are clean and functional and fine for solo travellers looking for a companion at night. The 1 bedroom units on the other hand are absolutely wonderful. A cool place to chill out is the restaurant and bar area that surrounds a  small swimming pool offering lovely beachfront views.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Portofino Beach Resort : “Hi Sir, Good morning. Regarding your query, there is no additional fee if you bring for an overnight but please be noted that it depends on how many unregistered guest are you planning to bring. If you’re planning to bring only one person it’s ok but if it is higher than one then there will be an additional charge on that. Thank you and looking forward for your visit! Kind Regards, Abby”.

Scandinavian Divers $$/$$$

Big La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

Scandinavian Divers is located on Big La Laguna Beach which is a 10-15 minutes walk from Sabang’s wild nightlife and girly bars action. I have no idea why this place is called the Scandinavian divers as it’s owned and ran by an American guy. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with  A/C, Satellite TV, mini bar, Wif-Fi and a good point to mention, the shower never had any shortage of hot water. There is a Bar, pool and eating area down stairs plus another one up stairs, named the Sky Bar which is also open air giving you options to chose between plenty of sun or shade with Music, TV and a Pool table, just great place to relax and chill.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Scandinavian Divers: “Yes, sure you can do that and we never charge any fee if you bring a guest. Best regards, Peter”

Swengland Beach Resort $/$$

Big La Laguna Beach, Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines

The Swengland Beach Resort is is an older hotel currently being renovated. Rooms are nothing fancy like in most budget accommodations, but they are clean with cable TV, A/C  plus ceiling fan as well. Bathroom is small but the shower’s hot water works. Resort is located in Big Laguna, about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Sabang’s nightlife or a quick ride by boat. Very good value for budget seeking travelers but make sure to bring a flashlight if you’re going to walk at night.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Phoenix Hotel: “Thanks for your e-mail. A guest is welcome, no charge. Hope to see you soon . Swengland Management”.

Badladz Resort $/$$

Muelle Pier, Puerto Galera, Philippines

Rooms at the Badladz are great value for money, basic but very clean and comfortable with fan and air con, hot water showers and TV with a nice restaurant and bar. There’s also a dive shop located within the resort. Location wise, Badladz adventure resort is located in a quiet area of Puerto Galera which is conveniently located right next to ferry pier and at equal of distance from White beach than the nightlife of Sabang. A Motorbike ride will cost you 150 PHP to either.

Guest Friendly policy reply by Badladz Adventure Resort: ”Absolutely! Yes! Expected! Preferred! Encouraged! No fees and no need to register the guest”.

Boracay Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated below are located on Boracay island and within walking distance of the main disco bars known for it’s bargirl freelance action: Cocomangas, Summer Place, Guilly’s and Club Paraw. The establishments in this list are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them between October and November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. Replies provided by hotel management can be seen at the end of each individual hotels description.

So, Where’s the action at in Boracay?

Things are definitely low-key affairs in Boracay, so don’t expect flashy neon lights showing you the way to any of the many strip clubs on the island, they don’t exist. What Boracay does have to offer is a very lively club scene, which also means a very active freelance scene. Though obviously not on the scale of a Manila or Angeles, the island should have enough bar girls to keep you busy for a while.

Anyone interested in trying out Boracay’s freelance scene should concentrate their time in one of the two most popular clubs: Cocomongas (9PM-10PM onwards in Station 1) and Summer Place (11 PM onwards in Station 2). Girls for hire can also be seen along the beach road at station 2 in various locations hiding in the dark and will approach you as you are walking past them come out of nowhere often 2 or 3 at a time.

But just what is a guest friendly hotel?

A hotel that is considered guest or Guest Friendly / Bargirl friendly/ Girl Friendly simply means that the establishment will accept you taking back an unregistered guest up to your room without charging any extra. A joiner fee can cost anywhere around from 10 to 25$ a night depending on the hotel’s policy. So if you unknowingly book a non-guest friendly hotel and plan on taking a lady back up to your room every night then you’re going to be paying a lot more money unnecessarily or worst outright denied entry. This is by no means an indication of their respectability as each hotel has different policies as long as you’re somewhat discreet. I have taken the time to e-mail them all personally to make sure about their policy and have given their reply with the hotel description.

Guest friendly hotels located in Boracay :

Nigi Nigi Nu Noos Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Nigis is an institution in Boracay and one of the oldest hotels in business on the island. Located right at the center of all the action on White Beach, even though it’s situated in a very lively spot, all the rooms are very private and on ground level, engulfed by a lush Balinese-style tropical garden making it very quiet and peaceful. While built in native bungalow style the rooms have all the amenities that you could need (TV, A/C, fridge, bathroom, shower  and plenty of space). Restaurant serves great food and the beach bar is one of the best!  You’ll instantly feel like you’re in your second home!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Nigi Nigi Nu Noos E Nu Nu Noos: “If it happens that you booked only one person and you want to have an additional one person overnight then it is okay as all our room rates are good for two persons but they have to present their ID at the reception or to our guard on duty for security purposes.”

Red Coconut Hotel $$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Red Coconut is a beautiful 3/4 star hotel centrally located on white beach.  The deluxe rooms were exceptionally nice and clean and had all the needed amenities. Room is spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the sea and fitted with flats screen TV, DVD player, mini bar, sofa and sofa table, free and very fast Wifi. There were even a few blue ray movies ready for you to watch. Hotel also has a nice swimming pool and bar. You cant go wrong here. Greetings from Red Coconut Beach Hotel! However, you guest would need to provide in ID at the reception.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Red Coconut Hotel: “Greetings from Red Coconut Beach Hotel! If you booked for two (2) people and you arrived alone, we won’t be charging you anything. However, you guest would need to provide in ID at the reception.”

La Isla Bonita Resort $/$$

White Beach, Station 3, Boracay, Philippines

Sandwiched between the Crown Regency and Sands hotel on station 3 La Isla Bonita Hotel is one of the least expensive  hotels of White Beach. If you are on a budget or don’t want to spend too much this is most likely the best bang for your buck you can get right on the beachfront. I have stayed here on my last two trips of 2011 and depending of the season a room between 25$ to 50$. For this price you get a clean and decent sized room with A/C, fridge, cable TV. Only minor complaint is that shower is a bit on the low pressure side. Staff was always very nice and had no problems bringing back a different girl every night.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by La Isla Bonita Resort: ” Thank you for your email, yes you can bring guest to your room but for safety reason, they have to registered here and present Identification card.”

Erus Suites Hotel $$/$$$

White Beach, Station 3, Boracay, Philippines

Room was nice, colorful and modern looking with a big comfortable bed, bathroom very spacious with a rainfall shower, TV and air-con worked great. Breakfast was quite good also. Staff friendly and helpful. Downsides is that the hotel is not beachfront and it takes around 5 minutes to get there. Also since it’s located  right next to main road I could hear street noise from inside the room so  if you are sensitive to tricycle or car noise it might be an issue. PS: If the price isn’t much of a difference go for the superior deluxe it’s much more luxurious.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by Erus Hotel & Restaurant Boracay: “Yes, we allow unregistered guests come with you as long as you pay the room for 2. Our security guard on duty will collect their ID before entering the hotel”.

La Carmela de Boracay Hotel $$/$$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

La Carmela is another centrally located beach front  hotel. The first ever hotel I’ve stayed in back in 2007 when this fabulous island was all new to me.. Aaaaaah souvenirs! Anyways I’ve always booked the semi-deluxe room here that are furnished with a comfortable bed, walk in shower (with plenty of hot water), modern toilet, TV with lots of English speaking channels, mini fridge and usually comes with a terrace/balcony. The beach is only a few seconds away from the hotel pool area. Agoda periodically shows some good promos for this establishment and if you just happen to stumble on one of them I wouldn’t hesitate.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by La Carmela de Boracay Hotel: I couldn’t get an answer from the hotel but I have stayed here quite a few times throughout the years and can assure you that bringing back girls at night is not a problem. You do need to make sure that she has some ID with her as the guard will request it and keep it until she leaves

The Strand Resort Boracay $$$/$$$$

 Station 1, Boracay, Philippines

The Strands is located a 2 to 3 minutes walk from the beach on a slope towards the end of Station 1 (The prettiest portion of white beach) and is a peaceful oasis amongst the tourist throngs that can be found in other parts of Boracay. Also not far at all from Cocomongas one of the two main hotspots for freelancers on the island. What you can expect is a four and a half star accommodation offering spacious rooms furnished with orthopedic beds, good A/C, nice high water pressure in the shower, Free Wifi, nice pool and garden Resort. The staff is also very friendly.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by The Strand Boracay Resort: “Our room rates are all quoted for two persons regardless of whether there are two or just one person in the room. Additional charges apply only for additional persons in excess of two.  And yes, we are, like all other establishments, mandated to require proof of identification of unregistered guests”.

Boracay Garden $$$/$$$$

White Beach, Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

The Boracay Garden Hotel is located in the busy commercial area of the white beach with lots of bars, restaurants and convenience stores around. Room I was allocated was spacious and clean. Came with a king size bed, single bed, sofa, TV desk and study table with still enough room to get around. The bathroom was also big with a bath and a shower. The service was very good and the staff were quite helpful. This a very large hotel with a nice pool area (3 giant pools with 1 kiddie pool) that seems to cater to a large South Korean clientele. The one downside is that the in room wifi isn’t free and charged at 100 Pesos an hour.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Boracay Garden Hotel: “Thank you for your email, with reference to your inquiry, Our in house guests are allowed to bring unregistered guest without any additional charge or joiner’s fee. Our resort’s policy is only to get an ID of the joiner (to be returned upon checking out)”.

Nirvana Beach Resort $$$/$$$$

212 Balabag, Boat Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Nirvana Beach resort living roomNirvana Beach resort dining area

The Nirvana Beach Resort may not be a beachfront as its name would suggest but the location is pretty convenient. Only a five minutes walk to White Beach (station 2), D’Mall (largest shopping center of the island with shops, restautants, supermarkets) and D’Talipapa (fresh meat & seafood market). The resort offer serviced condominium/apartment type of accommodations. Every individual unit (good for 4 people) is fully furnished and has two bedrooms, a living room & kitchen corner, dining area, 2 bathrooms/toilets with shower and a big veranda. Great place to share with a buddy where you can bring back girls at night where each has his individual room. The Nirvana Beach Resort also has a small pool and bar. Only minor complains is that the free Wi-Fi signal was low at times and that the water pressure wasn’t always great but otherwise a very nice place!

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Nirvana Beach Resort: ”Good Morning, Each of our units are good for up to 4 guests (included in the room price). Our policy is to register anyone who overnights at the resort.  Thanks & Brgds, Trond”.

One Crescent Place Hotel $$$/$$$$

Station 1, Boracay, Philippines

This ia an all new hotel located about 3-5 minutes (220 meters to be exact!) from White Beach and conveniently located in a quiet street. The building is  low-rise with 3 floors. Rooms are really nice and modern, well appointed and most importantly immaculately clean. Features good quality bed, split type aircon, TV with cable, fridge, coffee/tea maker, DVD player, Free in room wifi, hot and cold water for the shower and balcony or terrace.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the One Crescent Place Hotel Boracay: “It’s OK to bring a joiner to the hotel to stay in your room. For example, you booked a Deluxe Room and you are the only one who will occupy it, you can bring a person (only 1 person) without charge. But if you happen to bring two in your room, you will pay for the 3rd person. However, deluxe room can only accommodate two persons so if in case there will be three of you in the room, better try the Premier Room. It comes with 1 queen-sized bed and 1 single bed while Deluxe Room comes with 1 double-sized bed. Please be noted”.

Isla Gecko Resort $$/$$$

Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

Isla Gecko is is located in a quite residential area, about 3 minutes from the beach and not far the party scene. While definitely not a five star resort nor even a three star resort in some aspects the rooms were always clean with a fine working air-con unit. The TV came with a huge range of cable channels to choose from. The shower’s  water pressure was a bit on the low side though. Rooms have free wi-fi internet. The owner and staff was always very friendly and helpful.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from Isla Gecko Resort Boracay: “Regarding your query, registered guest(s) can bring unregistered guest based on the maximum allowable of the room. Meaning if you get a standard room for two people than the maximum number of occupants is two”.

Boracay Courtyard Beach Resort $/$$

Station 2, Boracay, Philippines

I have stayed at the Boracay Courtyard twice already in 2009 & 2010 due to budget constraints. The room is very basic but comes with air conditioned, cable TV,  hot and cold shower and a mini cabinet where you can store your belongings. In my experience is the cheapest option for a budget accommodation that’s within a minute of white beach with those kinds of amenities. Included in the price is a free buffet breakfast, but you have to go to La Carmela (their more upscale sister resort) which is minutes away. Staff were always very friendly. This is the kind of place that allows to experience one of the top ten beaches in the world, without burning a hole in the pocket. If you intend to spend a lot of time in the hotel, you should definitely go look elsewhere.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Boracay Courtyard Beach Resort: Though I haven’t gotten a reply from the e-mail address provided on their website I can say since I have personnaly stayed here a few times and it was never a problem bringing back a girl at night to my room“.

Alliance Villa

Manila Guest Friendly Hotels

All the guest friendly hotels stated below are located within walking distance of the three main areas of Manila known for it’s bargirl and freelance action: The Ermita & Malate district and Makati. These establishments are all very popular with like minded visitors and I have personally taken the time to contact each and every single one of them as of November 2012 to make sure their guest friendly policy is still in effect. The replies provided by the hotel management can be seen at the end of each individual hotels description.

So, Where’s the action in Manila?

While you can find bars with girls sparsely sprinkled just about anywhere in Metro Manila the biggest concentration is to be found in two main areas. The biggest and oldest is downtown in the Ermita & Malate district where you can find loads of freelancers in one of the many lively bars along M.H.Del Pilar and Mabini street such as L.A. Café (24 hours), G-spot and Amazonia. The second, only a short cab ride away is located in the more upscale business district of Makati around Burgos Street and is known to have the best looking entertainers and bikini bars of Manila. The prices are accordingly steeper but this is a good place to start for newcomers to the Philippines who will find many similarities with Bangkok’s Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza.

Guest friendly hotels located in Makati :

Hyatt Hotel and Casino $$$$

1588 Pedro Gil Cor. M.h. Del Pilar Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

The Hyatt is one of the more recent hotels in its category, which shows in the amenities and building. Room are big, spotless  and the bed extra comfortable. Rooms were actually made twice a day both in the morning and at night as I noticed after going out at night. Right in the middle of the action in Malate/Ermita…

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Manila Hyatt Hotel & Casino: “Greetings from Hyatt Hotel & Casino Manila! We do not have additional charges for any additional guests you may want to bring to your room. In case of additional breakfast or use of the hotel facilities, additional charges may apply”.

LPL Suites Greenbelt $$

112 Legaspi Street, Legaspi Village, Makati, Luzon, Philippines

Don’t worry to much about the rundown looks of the building exterior, once inside the LPL Suites, you’ll be greeted by the cozy and warm ambiance of the reception. Overall, I’ve been quite satisfied with the standards of the apartment. The hall, rooms and dining area are all very clean. The hot water was always available quickly upon turning on the shower and  the best part of it, the hotel is situated just opposite to Greenbelt 5.. In the end beyond our expectation for a budget apartment stay in this prime location.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by LPL Suites Greenbelt: “Thank you for your interest and we are pleased to inform you that its okay to bring a companion every night as long as he/she presents an ID at the front desk officer for identification and security purposes and of course with your permission”.

Location doesn’t get any better than this in Makati! Just on the corner of Burgos street and it’s girlie bars, everything you may need is with-in walking distance. My room had a terrific view over Manila and it was quite big. The king size bed was pretty comfortable and despite the heavy traffic noise in the morning I slept well. Minibar prices are ridiculously high but there is a 7-eleven on the corner where you can get everything you need to fill it up at a fraction of the price. In the end I feel for the price of the rooms and prime location, the hotel was very good value for my money. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for cheap affordable accommodation.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Makati Palace Hotel:Thank you for the interest staying in our hotel. We are the friendliest hotel in Makati, that’s why we are allowing joiner to stay with the guest overnight without any charge except that we would be asking a valid identification and need to register for our guest safety. We are looking forward in welcoming you and your guest! Thank you. Best Regards, Shiela“.

New World Makati City $$$$

Esperanza Street Corner Makati Avenue, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Hotel is centrally located in the Makati district just to Greenbelt! A place where you can be sure not to be hassled by beggars and peddlers of all sorts in a very secure environment. To keep it short… Everything was perfect, to the soft beds and pillows to the amenities available in the rooms. Great view of the business district from the window. They also have a nice pool, a number of bars and restaurants to choose from and spa services. Only downside is the bathtub that I felt was a bit too small to use if you are a tall sized European (No biggie) and that there was no free wifi or internet connection.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the New World Hotel Makati City: “Regarding your inquiry for the additional guest, our room only rates are  good for 1 or 2 persons. We only require additional charge for the third person which is Php 1000 and Php 1500 if it is with breakfast. Regards, Angelique Abalon, Reservations Department”.

Best Western Oxford Suites Makati $$$$

Durban corner P Burgos Street, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Oxford Suites is also located right in the heart of the night life of Makati… Clearly that’s not for families as it’s on the corner of Burgos Street with its go-go bars and all that entails. Room was spacious and clean, the furniture, TV, Air Con and bathroom all in good condition, staff friendly and the food was awesome, I noticed only one minor problems as the water pressure was a bit on the low side..

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Best Western Oxford Suites Makati: ”Please be advised that we do allow unregistered visitors to stay overnight without additional joiner’s fee, but as a standard security measure (especially for the safety of our guests), we recommend a valid ID be left at the security desk”.

Royal Bellagio Hotel $$/$$$

5010 P. Burgos Street, Poblacion, Makati, Manila, Philippines

Royal Bellagio Hotel bedroom viewRoyal Bellagio Hotel bathroom

The best selling point of the Royal Bellagio Hotel is it’s location smack in the middle of Burgos street (Manila’s red light district)  it just doesn’t get any better than this! Room was a bit small but fine for a solo traveler, everything is very clean and well maintained with all the expected basic amenities: Comfortable bed,  mini-bar, A/C, TV with a good choice of channels and a very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside I could think of was the missing in room safety box. TIP: Try to get a room higher up to avoid street noise.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Royal Bellagio Hotel  “Sir all room are good for 2 persons regarding visitor policy sir its up to you if you want to register her or not for unregistered guest we have to call you every time visitor will leave the room, and she must bring a valid id and register on our VISITORS LOGBOOK.

Peninsula Hotel Manila $$$$

Corner of Ayala And Makati Avenues Makati City, Manila, Philippines

The Manila Peninsula is a lovely, well run, top of the line hotel in Makati, the modern central district of Manila. The hotel doesn’t have all the polished opulence of the Hong Kong Peninsula, but Manila’s not HK after all. The rooms are large, very well equipped and attractively decorated. The beds well, once you drop into it you are guaranteed a blissful night’s sleep. Everything is clean and everything works perfectly as would be expected by a 5 star establishment. Breakfast is simply outstanding, something I looked forward to each morning.. There is extensive security entering the grounds, which reflects the reality of life in Manila rather than on the hotel. The level of service is typical of any five star Asian hotels.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Peninsula Manila: “Please be advised that the hotel does not charge joiner fee as long as it will only be for overnight (excluding breakfast) and the name of the joiner will be registered with the Front Desk”.

So you won’t really need a taxi or a driver to get around anywhere in Makati from here. The rooms and amenities are outstanding, Ultra modern, clean and and comfortable. Same goes for the bathroom. Also, excellent in-room WiFi connection.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply from the Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences: “Our rooms have a maximum occupancy of 2 adults. Shall there be third person to occupy the room, an additional charge of 1250php per night shall apply. As long as you do not exceed to the maximum occupancy there would be no charge for any extra person for the stay”.

Guest friendly hotels in Ermita & Malate

Executive Plaza Hotel $$/$$$

1630 A. Mabini Street , Malate, Manila, Philippines

This is not a fancy hotel. You won’t get a huge Las Vegas lobby, large pillars, or vast amenities. But what you’ll get  however, is a large well-looked after room, excellent service by uniformed staff  and a safe premises. Locations  is great as Robinson’s Mall is a 2 block walk , the world-famous LA Cafe (renamed Manila Bay Cafe these days) is just 3 blocks away and the Bay walk 4. Also the Hyatt with the big casino is across the street.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Executive Plaza Hotel: Warmest Greetings from Executive Plaza Hotel! Yes, joiner is allowed inside the room and there is no additional fee as long as you only bring one. Yes, ID will be presented upon check in“.

Las Palmas Hotel $$/$$$

1616 A. Mabini Street Malate, Manila, Philippines

Stayed in the Las Palmas hotel a few times in the past.  The cheaper rooms are a bit small though reasonably priced . Beds are very comfy and the place always kept clean. You get lots of channels on TV in English and A/C unit works well. The bathroom is spacious enough and the shower is hot and powerful. Only downside is the pricey internet. Located right in the heart of Malate it’s but a short walk from several hotshots for nigh time entertainment. Security in Las Palma is good and never had any problems letting valuables in the room. TIP: Be sure the guest you bring back has proper ID as they are strict about this policy.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Las Palmas Hotel: We are pleased to inform you that our Standard room that can accommodate 2 persons already. Just make sure your guest has a valid ID.”

1227 A. Mabini corner Padre Faura Sts., Ermita, Manila, Philippines

The Lotus Garden is a newly refurbished  hotel in Malate that has unbeatable rates and a prime downtown location. Clean rooms, Free Wi-Fi, Free breakfast buffet, staff is friendly and competent. Orchid Garden Suites $$/$$$

620 Pablo Ocampo Sr. St. Malate, Manila, Philippines

This hotel wasn’t built yesterday and the age shows. However, this was of no great consequence to us as the comfort level was good. The room are a little tight but clean and well furnished. The suites on the other hand are very spacious with bedroom, living room and kitchen area. The staff, as often in the Philippines, was kind and helpful.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Orchid Garden Suites: “We are please to inform you that we have rooms inclusive for two persons already, Inclusive of buffet breakfast. In regards to your concern, if a guest who’s with you that time is not registered in our system, she may need an identification card and she needs to log to our security guards log book, by the time she will go out she will tell to our security guard on what room she came from and then the security will call to your room to confirm that person who’s been to your room is freely to go out”.

Riviera Mansion Hotel $$$

1638 A. Mabini Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

I initially selected this hotel based on other travelers reviews from Tripadvisor. I can tell you that the hotel pictures don’t lie. Rooms were recently renovated, clean and comfortable. Over 80 channels on the TV and good A/C while a bit noisy at times if left on high. The Riviera Mansion is only a couple of minutes from LA Cafe (now called Manila Bay Cafe). Will cost you but a couple of dollars for a taxi ride to Makati, Mall of Asia or Greenbelt.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Riviera Mansion: “For security reasons, below is the hotel’s joiners policy:  Unregistered guest are allowed to stay overnight if accompanied by the registered guest. Only two persons are allowed to stay in the room without additional charge. Unregistered guest has to provide an ID upon entering  the hotel premises and to be retrieved upon leaving.  The registered guest should call the guard to allow the unregistered guest to leave the hotel”.

Rothman Hotel $$/$$$

1633 M. Adriatico Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

I stayed here for 3 days and I had an great stay. It’s very close to all attractions of Malate and Ermita and has very good amenities & clean rooms with backup generators, soft comfortable beds, Cable TV and fridge. There is no free wifi in the rooms and you have to buy internet cards.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Rothman Hotel: Warmest greetings from ROTHMAN HOTEL! below is the hotel’s joiners policy:  Unregistered guest are allowed to stay overnight if accompanied by the registered guest. Only two persons are allowed to stay in the room without additional charge. Unregistered guest has to provide an ID upon entering  the hotel premises and to be retrieved upon leaving. Minors who are not related to the registered guest are prohibited to enter the guest’s room.l”.

Sofitel Plaza Manila Hotel $$$$

CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard Pasay, Manila Bay, Manila, Philippines

The room are  squeaky clean, spacious and elegant. The bed and pillow really comfy, plus the balcony and the view is really a plus factor, a magnificent view of the pool and the Manila Bay area. The only downside was that the WiFi wasn’t included in the price. The price was much lower than I paid at the Makati Shangri-La’ for similar amenities.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel: “Please be informed that the room can accomodate two (2) Adults and two (2) children below 12 years old. If you will be staying alone in the room and the joiner will just come when you arrive, there will no additional charge. However, please be informed that its the hotel’s policy to register the name of the joiner and ID will be checked as well”.

Swagman Hotel $$

411 A Flores StErmitaManila, Luzon 1000Philippines

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times since my first trip in 2007, it is now under new management and sadly they have made significant staff cuts. The Swagman is not the Ritz but in the economy class hotel level. It still could be a good option for 1st time visitors to the country as they offer  free pickup and transfer services to the airport & bush shuttles to other mongering parts of the country such as Angeles, Subic bay, Puerto Galera, etc.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Swagman Hotel: “The room is for 2 persons, so if you are only one, and you would bring a guest with you. The charge is still the same.”.

Pan Pacific Manila $$$$

M. Adriatico Corner Gen. Malvar Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines

The Pan Pacific  is a pretty good value compared to other genuine five star hotels in Manila, which will easily go for twice the price & up. Check in fast and friendly with welcome drinks. The standard room was roomy and well appointed with a beautiful view of the Manila Bay. The bathroom was also roomy and has a sliding window which divides the bath tub (which has it’s own TV) from the bedroom. The room’s king size bed was wonderfully relaxing and came with crisp white sheets and down feathered pillows. Comes with complimentary internet access and a big LCD TV. The Pool area was always quiet during my stay with plenty of chairs for sunbathing.

  • Guest Friendly policy reply by the Pan Pacific: “Greetings from Pan Pacific Manila! You may allow to bring back unregistered guest overnight without any joiner fee. And yes sir, guest will have to provide ID upon their check in at the reception..”
